Vocational training program to retrain childcare providers with prolonged career gaps

Pursuant to the amendments made to the Enforcement Rules of the Child Care Act in June 2019, the principal or teacher at a childcare facility who has not worked as a childcare provider for two or more years (starting March 1, 2020), may not be re-employed as a principal or teacher at a childcare facility if he/she fails to complete the required retraining program.

As such, Incheon is offering retraining programs for childcare providers with prolonged career gaps from September 2019. Please consult the following information.
If you are seeking re-employment a childcare facility (as a principal or teacher), please read all of the relevant information.

 □ Vocational training program for childcare providers with prolonged career gaps
 
1. (Target) Childcare facility principals or teachers seeking re-employment after March 1, 2020, who have not worked as a childcare provider for two or more years.

2. (Curriculum and program duration) 3 fields, 10 subjects, total 40 hours of face-to-face (group) sessions [5-day program]

3. (Program schedule) Offered on an as-needed basis from September 2019

4. (Training institution) Korea Childcare Promotion Institute ☎ 1661-5666

5. (Program application instructions) Register online (official website)

  ① Log on to the official website for the national certification program for childcare personnel
      http://chrd.childcare.go.kr 
  ② Click “Education” menu -> Click “Individual” -> Verify personal ID
  ③ Set the region to “Korea Childcare Promotion Institute” and click “Search” -> Check the relevant program schedule, then click “View Details”
  ※ Check if you are eligible for the program first, then apply for the program
6. (Program tuition) KRW 80,000 (no subsidies available) *Extra charges for teaching materials
