Incheon launches Citizen Professors program


The Incheon Metropolitan City Government has launched a new lifelong learning initiative called Citizen Professors of Incheon.Through the program, residents step up as instructors, sharing their knowledge and skills with others in the community.

The project promotes citizen participation in learning and community education, covering areas from culture and arts to daily life and professional development.





Incheon supports young entrepreneurs expanding overseas


The Incheon Metropolitan City Government and the Incheon Center for Creative Economy and Innovation are joining forces to help young entrepreneurs enter overseas markets.

This year, 25 Incheon-based startups will expand into Malaysia and Vietnam under the Youth Overseas Expansion Base Support Project.Each company will receive financial and mentoring support, including help connecting with international partners.





2025 Baedari Book Festival to take place in Incheon


Incheon City will host the 2025 Baedari Book Festival on October 25 along Baedari Book Alley in Dong-gu.

Since its launch in 2019, the annual festival has celebrated the charm of Incheon’s historic Baedari Secondhand Bookstore Alley, once a hub of literary culture in the 1960s and 70s.Visitors can find program details on the city’s website and register through Naver in advance.




Incheon hosts public hearing on Air Quality Management Plan


The Incheon Metropolitan City Government is holding a public hearing today at the Incheon Culture & Arts Center to discuss its new Air Quality Management Plan.

The event brings together city officials, businesses, and civic groups to share ideas for improving Incheon’s air quality over the next five years. 

Feedback from the session will be reflected in the city’s final plan.





Abandoned Songdo Station reborn as a cultural space


Yeonsu-gu has transformed the former Songdo Station—once part of the old Suin Line—into a new cultural park.

The project, completed with an investment of 3.8 billion won, restores the station’s historic structure while showcasing a steam clock tower and narrow-gauge turntable discovered nearby.

Opened in 1937, the Suin Line once linked Nam Incheon and Suwon before closing in 1995.





Namdong-gu improves housing for people with disabilities


Namdong-gu has completed this year’s housing improvement project for residents with disabilities, upgrading a total of 20 homes.

The district exceeded its original goal after finishing two rounds of renovation work—11 homes in the first phase and 9 in the second.





Michuhol-gu conducts 2025 Population and Housing Census


Michuhol-gu is conducting the 2025 Population and Housing Census through November 18.

The survey, led by the Ministry of Data and Statistics and local governments, collects key demographic and housing information that helps shape national and regional policy. 

It covers both Korean and foreign residents living in selected areas across the country.





New cargo vessel to replace aging Incheon–Qinhuangdao ferry


A new cargo vessel will soon replace the aging ferry operating between Incheon Port and Qinhuangdao, China, as the current ship approaches the end of its service life.

According to the shipping industry, QIN IN Shipping Company Limited has applied to the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to introduce a replacement ship.

The move comes before the existing vessel, the 12 000 ton Xin Yu Jin Xiang, exceeds 30 years of service on November fifth.
