1,200 Overseas Korean Youth to Experience Incheon


Incheon Metropolitan City has announced that it will invite 1,200 overseas Korean youth to Incheon as part of the "2024 OKFriends Homecoming Youth Camp" hosted by the Overseas Koreans Agency and organized by the Overseas Koreans Cooperation Center.

The "2024 OKFriends Homecoming Youth Camp" is an annual program that has been conducted by Overseas Koreans Agency and Overseas Koreans Cooperation Center since 2001. It aims to enhance the identity and pride of the next generation of overseas Koreans by providing them with opportunities to experience Korea's politics, economy, culture, and history, while fostering mutual bonds with domestic youth.

This year's Camp marks the first large-scale official event held in Incheon since the establishment of the Overseas Koreans Agency's Incheon office.

Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok expressed his hopes for the event, stating, "I hope this will be a memorable time for the participants to directly see, feel, and learn more about Incheon, which is transforming into a world-class city."

Jazz Orchestra and Korean Traditional Music Highlight Incheon Cultural & Arts Center's Packed Second Half Performance Schedule


The Incheon Cultural and Arts Center has announced the lineup for the second half of its monthly 'Coffee Concert' series, featuring diverse musical performances.


On August 14, the 'Lee Ji-yeon Orchestra' will perform jazz adaptations of popular animation and movie soundtracks. On September 25, the ska band 'Kingston Rudieska' will present Jamaican music with a Korean twist. Following them, on October 16, the ensemble 'Jebi,' based on traditional Korean music, will take the stage.


In early winter, the jazz vocal group 'Nebula' will perform on November 13, and cellist 'Park Yoo-shin' will entertain the audience on December 18, adding a warm atmosphere to the season.


All five performances will be held at the Dong-gu Cultural and Sports Center.



Incheon Island Photo Exhibition to Celebrate 'Island Day' with Gem-like Moments

In celebration of Island Day 2024, Incheon City and the Incheon Tourism Organization will host the "Gem-like Moments, Incheon Island Photo Exhibition" from July 17 to 24. The exhibition will take place at the central hall on the first floor of Incheon City Hall's main building and the central hall on the first floor of the Incheon City Council.

This photo exhibition aims to showcase the beautiful natural landscapes and diverse cultural attractions of Incheon's islands, including Ganghwa, Ongjin, Jung-gu, and Seo-gu, through stunning photographs capturing their gem-like moments.

The first display will be held from Wednesday, July 17 to Friday, July 19 at the central hall of Incheon City Hall's main building, featuring 40 photographs, including works by photographer Hong Seung-hoon. Following this, from July 20 to 24, 28 photographs will be exhibited at the central hall of the Incheon City Council.

Incheon Office of Education Lifelong Learning Center Launches 'Story-based Coding' Program Combining Reading and Coding Education


The Incheon Office of Education Lifelong Learning Center is inviting participants for the '2024 Story-based Coding' program, a project in collaboration with the National Library for Children and Young Adults, starting from July 16.


This program aims to enhance the reading interest and digital skills of 4th to 6th-grade elementary students by integrating reading activities and coding education.
