Incheon Conducts Specialized Training for Disaster Safety Workers 


On the 28th, Incheon conducted the “2024 Second Half Specialized Training for Disaster Safety Workers” at Songdo Convensia, targeting 170 disaster safety managers and practitioners from the city, district offices, public corporations, and institutions. 

This training was conducted as a legally mandated program under Article 29 of the “Framework Act on Disaster and Safety Management.” It was held in a group training format to meet the growing public interest and demand for disaster safety and to enhance the job competency of disaster safety personnel. 

An official from Incheon stated that they will do their best to maintain a systemic cooperation system in various disaster situations to provide public services and administration that allow citizens to feel safe and satisfied. 




Incheon Operates a “Traveling Environmental Health School”


On the 28th and 29th, Incheon operated a “Traveling Environmental Health School” for 3rd to 6th grade students at Baengnyeong Elementary School and Bukpo Elementary School on Baengnyeong Island. 

The “Traveling Environmental Health School” provides easy-to-understand education on the prevention and management of environmental diseases such as fine dust, allergies and environmental hormones, and is jointly conducted by Incheon and the Incheon Environmental Health Center. 

This “Traveling Environmental Health School” provided experience-based, customized education under the theme “Surviving the Climate Crisis,” helping participants understand how to protect themselves from environmental hazards and easily comprehend the prevention and management of environmental diseases. 





Incheon Yeongjongdo to Shindo Sea Bridge to be Completed by December 2025 

 

The first phase of the “Peace Road”, connecting Yeongjongdo, home to Incheon International Airport, and Ganghwado, a bordering area, will be completed by the end of next year. 

Incheon announced that it plans to complete the Yeongjongdo-Shindo Sea Bridge (3.2km) by December next year. 

The city has started operating a task force (TF) to prepare for the opening of the Yeongjongdo-Shindo Bridge, focusing on expanding infrastructure such as parking lots and roads, as well as enhancing public transportation. 

The city is also pursuing the construction of the second phase of the project, the Shindo-Ganghawdo Bridge (11.4km), as a long-term project following the first phase, which involves the Yeongjongdo-Shindo Bridge, part of the entire 14.6 km section of the Yeongjongdo-Ganghwado Peace Road. 





Incheon City Office of Education Holds the Incheon Mathematics Festival and the Incheon Science Festival 


The Incheon City Office of Education held the 10th Incheon Mathematics Festival and the 26th Incheon Science Festival at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium from October 25th to 26th. 

This event was conducted as the largest festival in the country, with approximately 70,000 citizens participating in 468 booths that were primarily planned by elementary, middle, and high school students from Incheon. 

The 10th Incheon Mathematics Festival this year operated a record-high of 182 booths under the theme “Mathematics Connecting Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Opening the Future.” It featured various themes, including Math Playground, Dream Gathering Square, and Dream Realization Square, providing programs that allowed participants to experience mathematics in an easy and enjoyable way.
