First Maritime Cultural Facility in Seoul, National Incheon Maritime Museum Opens 


Starting today (the 11th), the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries officially opens and begins operating the National Incheon Maritime Museum. 

As the first cultural facility in Seoul, the National Incheon Maritime Museum is located on Wolmido Island in Jung-gu, Incheon. The four-story building spans a total floor area of approximately 17,000 square meters. 

The museum houses various facilities, including a children’s museum, a maritime culture exhibition hall, a special exhibition hall, storage facilities, and a café. 

Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Kang Do-hyung stated that he hopes the National Incheon Maritime Museum to play a crucial role in elevating Incheon into a global maritime city.






Incheon Leads Social Change by Encouraging Fathers’ Participation in Childcare


The Incheon City Government, in collaboration with the Incheon Branch of the Korea Population Health and Welfare Association, successfully held the “Graduation Ceremony and Cultural Event for the 6th Incheon 100 Fathers Program” On December 7th at the Incheon Northern Education and Cultural Center. 

The “Incheon 100 Fathers Program” is a flagship initiative launched by the city in 2019 to promote awareness about addressing the low birthrate and to encourage fathers’ participation in childcare. It has successfully run for six terms, involving over 600 fathers who have gained confidence in parenting and created precious memories with their children. 

The 6th term, which began with an inauguration ceremony in April 2024, participated in various parenting activities over approximately seven months. These included experiential programs with their children, mentoring sessions, and weekly online missions. Participants actively shared their parenting tips and engaged in lively exchanges throughout the program. 





Incheon Senior Welfare Facilities Association Successfully Hosted Heartwarming Unity Festival 


The Incheon City Government and the Incheon Senior Welfare Facilities Association hosted the “Incheon Senior Welfare Facilities Association Unity Festival” yesterday (10th) at Munhak Stadium. 

This event, organized and hosted by the Incheon Senior Welfare Facilities Association, a coalition of social welfare foundation care facilities in Incheon, is held annually to promote the development of senior welfare facilities and foster unity among their staff. This year marked its 11th anniversary. 

Yoo Jeong-bok, Mayor of Incheon, stated that Incheon will continue to do its best to strengthen an efficient and systematic care system to ensure that seniors can live healthy and happy lives. 





Incheon City Dance Company Presents “Winter Solstice: Dance-Infused Landscapes”


To mark the end of the year and express gratitude for the warm support received throughout the year, the Incheon City Dance Company has prepared “Winter Solstice: Dance-Infused Landscapes”. 

This performance, a collaborative project between the Incheon Foundation for Arts and Culture and the Incheon City Dance Company, will be held on December 20th at the Tri-Bowl Theater. 

Coinciding with Dongji (Winter Solstice), one of the significant seasonal milestones in the traditional 24 solar terms, the performance incorporates the cultural and folkloric significance of Dongji into its choreography and composition. 

Tickets for “Winter Solstice: Dance-Infused Landscapes” by the Incheon City Dance Company are priced at 20,000 KRW, and the performance is open to audiences aged 36 months and older.
