Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority's Waterfront Development Project Gains Attention as Advanced Disaster Prevention Case


The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZ) has conducted field visits to the Songdo International City waterfront development project in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) Northeast Asian Office as part of its disaster reduction project. 

The purpose of these visits was to examine effective disaster prevention in marine and water resource management related to the waterfront development project. Since May, a total of five field visits have been conducted for countries in the Northeast Asian region, including China, Japan, Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, and Mongolia.

In the future, IFEZ plans to strengthen its international cooperation networks and work with the UNDRR Northeast Asian Office to promote the Songdo International City waterfront development project as an advanced case study in disaster prevention.






Incheon Successfully Attracts '2026 FIABCI Global Leadership Summit'


Incheon Metropolitan City has successfully attracted the '2026 International Real Estate Federation(FIABCI) Global Leadership Summit' in collaboration with Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, Incheon Tourism Organization, and Korea Tourism Organization.

Incheon City has been actively promoting its bid by creating an attractive proposal showcasing attractions of Incheon, delivering letters of support from three agencies expressing their desire to host the event, and promoting the excellent MICE infrastructure of Songdo International Conference Complex.

The 45th conference, to be held in Songdo for four days from November 30 to December 3, 2026, is expected to attract about 500 participants from 40 countries. This will be an excellent opportunity to promote the potential of Incheon's real estate market to global real estate development and investment experts. It is expected to bring significant investment attraction results and an economic ripple effect of about 1.3 billion won.





'2024 Incheon Domestic Tourist Attraction Performance Sharing Meeting’ Successfully Concluded


Incheon Metropolitan City and Incheon Tourism Organization successfully concluded the '2024 Incheon Domestic Tourist Attraction Performance Sharing Meeting' held at Harbor Park Hotel on the 11th.

The event, organized to review the 2024 Incheon domestic tourism marketing performance and discuss the direction for 2025 projects, was attended by about 100 travel industry representatives, including the Incheon School Trip Attraction Committee, domestic partner travel agencies, and the Incheon Tourism Association.

At this performance sharing meeting, opinions were shared on the direction of future projects to strengthen Incheon's tourism competitiveness based on the 2024 project performance, and resolutions were made for the development of Incheon tourism in 2025.

 





Incheon Foundation for Arts and Culture Selected as Outstanding Institution for 4 Consecutive Years


Incheon Metropolitan City and Incheon Foundation for Arts and Culture announced that they selected as an outstanding institution for the fourth consecutive year by winning the bronze prize in the '2023 National Evaluation of Performing Arts Practice Space Operation' conducted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Arts Council Korea on November 28.

The Incheon Performing Arts Practice Space, which opened in 2016 through an agreement between Incheon Metropolitan City, Incheon Foundation for Arts and Culture, and the Arts Council Korea, has been operating for 9 years. This space plays a crucial role in supporting the environment for local performing artists and fostering the performing arts ecosystem.

An official from the Incheon Foundation for Arts and Culture stated, "This award is an achievement made possible by the continuous support of local artists, citizens, and Incheon City," and expressed the ambition to continue developing the performing arts ecosystem in the future.
