Incheon Customs Donates 10 Tons of Smuggled Agricultural Goods for Wildlife Feed
The Incheon Main Customs Office has donated 10 tons of smuggled agricultural goods, including mung beans and black soybeans, to five environmental organizations.
These goods were illegally brought into the country without declaration by smugglers attempting to evade the high tariff rates of over 400% applied to grains.
After confiscating the smuggled items, customs authorities deliberated on disposal methods and decided to donate the goods, as they had passed plant quarantine inspections and posed no risk of spreading pests or diseases domestically.
The donation recipients include organizations involved in feeding wildlife in Incheon, such as the Catholic Environmental Alliance, the Black-faced Spoonbill Ecological Learning Center at Namdong Reservoir, and the Incheon Green Union.
