Incheon City Launches Initiative to Support 55 Promising SMEs


Incheon Metropolitan City has unveiled plans to nurture 55 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with high technological capabilities and growth potential.

SMEs can apply online through BizOK, the city’s tailored support platform, by May 30. The selection process will include a document review, on-site evaluations, and a final announcement in October.

Selected businesses will be classified into three tiers: "Promising SMEs," "Vision Enterprises," and "Mid-level Growth Enterprises," receiving tailored support for five years. The funding limits are set at 1.5 billion KRW for Promising SMEs, 3 billion KRW for Vision Enterprises, and 5 billion KRW for Mid-level Growth Enterprises.






Incheon City Collaborates to Deliver Meals to Underprivileged Children


On April 3, Incheon Metropolitan City signed a business agreement at City Hall for free meal support through the 'i-Onbab' initiative, which delivers meals to underprivileged children.

As a key component of Incheon’s low birthrate response strategy, 'i-Plus Gilreodream,' the 'i-Onbab' program provides warm, freshly cooked meals to children in need through a collaboration between the city and private entities.

Under the agreement, children aged 14 and older in vulnerable groups using meal support cards will receive free meal deliveries up to four times a month.






Nation’s Top Theater Festival to Open in Incheon This July 


The 43rd Korea Theater Festival, the pinnacle of South Korea’s theater scene, is scheduled to run from July 5 to 23 in Incheon.

Incheon Metropolitan City has announced that the festival will be held under the theme of “Theater Lands in Incheon,” featuring a range of performances and side events.

The festival will showcase works by theater troupes representing 16 provinces, chosen through regional preliminaries, at venues including the Small Performance Hall of the Incheon Cultural Arts Center, Seo-gu Cultural Center, Cheongna Bluenova Hall, Munhak Theater, and Art Platform.






Incheon Cultural Arts Center Partially Reopens Following First-Phase Renovation


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that the Incheon Culture and Arts Center, located in Guwol-dong, Namdong-gu, has partially reopened after completing the first phase of its remodeling project.

The city embarked on comprehensive renovations of the center, which first opened in 1994, with a total investment of 48.4 billion won, initiating major construction work in January last year.

Facilities including the small performance hall, exhibition rooms, and conference spaces have reopened after the first phase of renovations. The second phase, involving the large performance hall, is slated for completion by October, and the venue will welcome audiences again.
