Residents affected by Incheon EV fire donate 20 million KRW to wildfire recovery
Residents of an apartment complex in Incheon’s Cheongna International City, who suffered severe damage from an electric vehicle fire last year, have come together to donate approximately 20 million KRW to help with wildfire recovery efforts.
After hearing news about wildfire damage in the Yeongnam region, the residents organized a fundraising campaign to support recovery efforts.
One participating resident shared, “Having experienced the pain and hardship of a fire, it felt only natural to give back the support we once received. We hope this donation is delivered effectively and helps those affected by the wildfires recover quickly and return to their daily lives.”
Mansu Stream ranks first in name selection survey for restored stream in Namdong-gu, Incheon
Namdong-gu District Office in Incheon announced that “Mansu Stream” received the most votes in a name selection survey conducted as part of its local stream restoration project.
The survey, conducted from February to March, collected responses from approximately 2,100 local residents. “Mansu Stream” received 42% of the votes, followed by “Namdong Stream” with 38%, and “Dambang Stream” with 11%.
This name selection survey was part of the preliminary procedures for the restoration project. The district plans to officially designate the 2.4-kilometer restoration section as a minor stream through the Metropolitan Minor Stream Management Committee by July.
Incheon Office of Education expands “Neulbom Safety Helper” program
The Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education announced that it is expanding the deployment of “Neulbom Safety Helpers” to ensure safe commutes home for students participating in the Nelumbo School program.
As the program has expanded to include second-grade students and safety measures have been strengthened, the Office of Education has partnered with the Incheon Senior Human Resources Development Center to place 118 volunteers across 44 schools and has also collaborated with the Government Employees Pension Service to provide an additional 151 personnel at 95 schools.
The Office of Education expects the Neulbom Safety Helpers not only to enhance student safety but also to help ease the workload of on-site staff. The agency plans to continue expanding its pool of personnel for the program.
Ganghwa’s Hwagae Garden Festival is selected for Incheon’s Tourism Festival Support Program for fourth consecutive year
Ganghwa-gun announced that the Hwagae Garden Festival has once again been selected for the Incheon Metropolitan City’s Regional Tourism Festival Support Program.
The program aims to promote community-based festivals that showcase the unique culture of each region while encouraging active citizen participation.
Since first being selected in 2022, the Hwagae Garden Festival has now earned a spot on the list for four consecutive years.
