Incheon has announced a 150 billion won support package—roughly 110 million U.S. dollars—for small and medium-sized businesses impacted by rising U.S. tariffs.

Under the plan, each company may apply for up to 500 million won in loans, with the city covering 2% of the annual interest. The loans must be repaid within one year.

While the city won’t provide the loans directly, businesses can apply through their banks and check eligibility there.

Applications open on July 14 and will be accepted online through Incheon’s “BizOK” platform until the funds are fully allocated.

Woman in Her 60s Seriously Injured in Midnight Apartment Fire in Incheon; Residents Evacuated


A fire broke out around 1:52 a.m. at a 12-story apartment building in Hang-dong 7-ga, Jung-gu, Incheon.

A woman in her 60s, who lived on the second floor, was seriously injured and taken to the hospital by emergency crews. 57 other residents evacuated on their own.

Firefighters quickly responded with 75 personnel and 28 units. The blaze was brought under control by 2:49 a.m.—about an hour after it began.

Authorities believe the fire started on the second floor and are now investigating what caused it.






LPG Explosion at Ganghwa Greenhouse Injures Man in His 60s


A man in his 60s was seriously injured in a liquefied petroleum gas, or LPG, explosion at a greenhouse in Ganghwa, Incheon.

According to the Ganghwa Fire Station, at around 8:17 p.m. yesterday, emergency services received a report from Naengjeong-ri, Seonwon-myeon, Ganghwa-gun, stating that it seemed a gas explosion had occurred.”

The explosion left a man in his 60s, identified only as Mr. A, with first-degree burns across his body. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Part of the greenhouse, used as a storage shed, was also damaged.

Police and fire officials believe an LPG leak caused the explosion. They are investigating the exact cause.






Ganghwa-gun Launches Living Lab Project for Smart Service-Based Clean Ganghwa


Ganghwa-gun recently held a launch ceremony for a citizen-led living lab project at Yuyu Base in Ganghwa-eup, as part of the Smart Service-Based Clean Ganghwa initiative.

The project aims to address environmental issues such as illegal dumping and poor waste separation using smart technology and active community participation.

About 20 participants including residents, public officials, sanitation workers, and smart technology experts from Inha University formed a citizen group called Ganghwa C-Crew.

Through this initiative, they plan to develop a new model for creating a cleaner city in Ganghwa-gun.
