Incheon City Hosts 'Night for Harmony and Peace' Commemorating 75th Anniversary of Incheon Landing Operation

Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it held a welcome and appreciation event, "Night for Harmony and Peace," at Harbor Park Hotel on September 14th to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Incheon Landing Operation.

This special event was organized ahead of the Incheon Landing Operation memorial ceremony to welcome delegations from participating countries and key dignitaries, and to express gratitude to veterans who dedicated themselves to freedom and peace.

Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok stated, "We express our deep gratitude to the participating countries and veterans, and Incheon will continue to lead international solidarity and cooperation as an international peace city."

Incheon City Implements Free Influenza Vaccinations for Children, Pregnant Women, and Seniors

Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will sequentially implement free influenza vaccinations starting September 22nd for children aged 6 months to 13 years, followed by pregnant women and seniors.

Pregnant women can receive free vaccinations starting September 29th, seniors aged 75 and above from October 15th, those 70 and above from October 20th, and those 65 and above from October 22nd.

This vaccination program is in preparation for the upcoming winter influenza outbreak, and high-risk groups who face severe complications from infection are strongly advised to get vaccinated.

"Standing by Youth" - Incheon City Holds Festival for Counselors

Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will host the "2025 Incheon Metropolitan City Youth Counselor Convention" on September 17th, organized by the Incheon Metropolitan Youth Counseling and Welfare Center Council.

Approximately 100 staff members from youth counseling and welfare centers and out-of-school youth support centers within the jurisdiction will attend this convention, which was organized to recognize the hard work of staff who have contributed to the development of youth counseling and welfare services, and to enhance their pride and solidarity.

Awards including the Incheon Metropolitan City Council Chairman's Award and the Korea Youth Counseling and Welfare Development Institute Chairman's Award will be presented to institutions and individuals who have contributed to the development of youth counseling and welfare services.

"Furniture and Interior in One Place" - 2025 Incheon Furniture Expo Opens

The "7th 2025 Incheon Furniture Expo," sponsored by Incheon Metropolitan City and hosted by the Incheon Furniture Development Council, will be held for four days from September 25th to 28th at the Songdo Convensia Exhibition Hall.

First held in 2021, the Incheon Furniture Expo is celebrating its 7th year and has established itself as Korea's representative professional furniture exhibition based on Incheon's furniture industry foundation.

This expo is expected to serve not only as an exhibition but also as a venue to explore new pathways for the region's stagnant furniture industry.

Ganghwa-gun Holds Harvest Event for Excellent Rice 'Gangdeulmi' from Ganghwa Island Fields

Incheon's Ganghwa-gun held a harvest event for the new early-variety rice 'Gangdeulmi' on the 12th in Samseon-ri, Gyodong-myeon.

'Gangdeulmi' is a new variety developed by Ganghwa-gun in collaboration with the Rural Development Administration through demand-driven variety development research, aiming to produce the highest quality Ganghwa Island rice. After undergoing regional adaptation trials for 4 years starting in 2021, variety protection application was completed this year, and it is currently being distributed to farms for cultivation.

The variety name 'Gangdeulmi' was selected through a public contest in December last year and carries the meaning of "excellent rice from Ganghwa Island fields."

Holiday Gifts Through 'Incheon Direct Purchase'... Incheon City Holds Special Chuseok Discount Event

Incheon City announced that it will host a special promotional event for its joint online platform 'Incheon Direct Purchase' to expand online sales channels for local small and medium enterprises and promote consumption of local products during the Chuseok holiday. 

This event will be conducted through both online and offline channels and was organized to revitalize the local economy through citizens' consumption of local products. 

Through this event, the city plans to support citizens in purchasing excellent local products at reasonable prices and encourage their active use as holiday gifts to promote a virtuous cycle in the local economy.
