Humanities Classics Discussion Seminar to Be Held at Michuhol Library Starting October 29
Incheon Metropolitan City’s Michuhol Library announced that it will hold the Humanities Classics Discussion Seminar INU Great Books, run in connection with Incheon University’s Haksan Library, from October 29 to November 26 every Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., for a total of five sessions.
INU Great Books is a program where participants read classics together and explore ideas and wisdom in the texts through non-competitive discussions.
The seminar will include about 15 adult participants, and applications can be made starting at 10 a.m. on September 16 through the Michuhol Library website (https://www.michuhollib.go.kr/) or by phone (440-6666).
Incheon to Hold Job Fair Tailored to Job Skills
The Incheon Women’s Plaza Incheon Industrial Complex Women’s New Job Center announced that it will hold the 2025 Incheon Industrial Complex Women’s Job Fair on September 19 from 1 p.m. at the Women’s Plaza outdoor plaza.
The job fair will be linked to vocational training courses at the center, with about 20 companies participating to conduct on-site hiring.
The event will also be held together with the Women’s Plaza Student Festival, offering various programs that citizens as well as job fair participants can enjoy.
2025 Youth Job Information Session to Be Held
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will hold the 2025 Incheon Youth Job Information Session on September 23 at the city hall central hall.
The event is designed to provide young people with various job opportunities in public enterprises, private companies, and startups.
The information session is one of the main events during 2025 Incheon Youth Week, which runs from September 20 to 27, and during the week there will also be a Youth Healing Day, policy debates, and a youth cultural festival.
Incheon Develops AI-Based Citizen Participation Platform
A policy research team in Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it has developed a new method using artificial intelligence and other technologies to reflect citizens’ voices 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
This result came from the task Developing a Method for Everyday Incheon Communication with Citizens, which was submitted to the civil servants’ policy idea contest.
The study is seen as a first step in returning ownership of administrative planning to citizens, and is expected to lead to urban planning policies that citizens can truly feel.
Gyeyang-gu to Hold ‘2025 Youth Week Event’
Incheon Gyeyang-gu announced that it will hold a youth week event from September 20 to 26 to mark Youth Day (the third Saturday of September).
The event, under the theme “Even Running Youth Need Rest,” aims to provide empathy, communication, and healing through programs planned and participated in by young people.
The event will feature performances by youth groups, a lecture by writer and economic columnist Kim Kyungpil titled Escape from an Empty Wallet! Surviving with Smart Asset Management, as well as side events such as caricatures, tarot counseling, and job interview photo sessions.
Ganghwa-gun to Hold the 17th Ganghwa Shrimp Festival on October 10
Incheon’s Ganghwa-gun will hold the 17th Ganghwa Shrimp Festival for three days from October 10 to 12 at Oepo Port in Naega-myeon, right after the Chuseok holiday.
Ganghwa is the nation’s largest production area for salted shrimp, producing 70% of Korea’s total. The shrimp, rich in minerals from the West Sea and traditionally fermented, are known for their thin shells and excellent texture, attracting buyers nationwide every kimchi-making season.
At this year’s festival, visitors can purchase fresh shrimp directly at the local market and join programs such as catching shrimp, making kimchi, and making salted shrimp. Cotton candy making, traditional games, and face painting for children are also prepared for family visitors.
Incheon Jung-gu Renovates Bicycle Paths Linked to 300-ri Bike Network
Incheon Jung-gu is working on bicycle path maintenance in the Yeongjong and Yongyu areas.
According to Jung-gu, it will carry out the Yeongjong International City Bicycle Path Maintenance Project from this month through November, linked to the 300-ri Bike Network Project.
The project will repair sections with poor pavement conditions, subsidence, or damage, among the 300-ri network, to provide safe and pleasant cycling conditions. The total budget is 1 billion.
