Incheon Recruits Universities for “1,000-won Breakfast” Program

Lane Markings Added on New Cheongna Haneul Bridge


Safety concerns have been raised after the opening of Cheongna Haneul Bridge on January 5th. The concerns were raised as pedestrians and bicycles were using the same path without separation and relevant agencies have taken steps to establish safety measures. The Incheon Free Economic Zone said it has completed lane marking work from the 15th to 16th, separating bicycles and pedestrian lanes. The markings cover about four kilometers, from the Cheongna entrance to the Yeongjong Island end of the bridge.






World’s Largest AI Robot Competition to be Held in Incheon


The world’s largest AI robotics competition, RoboCup 2026, will be held in Incheon this July. It will be the first time the event is hosted by Korea. Incheon Metropolitan City held the launch ceremony for the RoboCup 2026 Incheon Organizing Committee. The competition will take place from July 1st to 6th at Songdo ConvensiA. This is down 75 percent from 72.8 billion won recorded in 2024. The fire agency said safety inspections and smart response systems helped prevent large-scale fires.




Incheon’s ‘Love Temperature Tower’ Reaches 100 Degrees


Incheon’s “Love Temperature Tower,” part of the city’s Sharing Campaign, has passed the 100-degree mark. According to the Incheon Community Chest of Korea, total donations reached 10.95 billion won. This exceeded the goal of 10.88 billion won in just 50 days after the campaign began on January 1, and raised the love temperature to 100.7 degrees. The campaign runs until the 31st, and the closing ceremony will be held on February 2 at Incheon City Hall plaza.





Ongjin-gun Signs Agreement to Support Vulnerable Cancer Patients


Ongjin-gun has signed an agreement with the Incheon branch of the Korea Association of Health Promotion to support medical costs for cancer patients in vulnerable groups. Incheon Plans Bridge Linking Jangbong and Mo Islands by 2031


Incheon Metropolitan City plans to build a sea bridge linking Jangbong Island with Mo Island in Ongjin-gun by 2031. The bridge will be 1.8 kilometers long with two lanes. Total project cost is estimated at 108.4 billion won. The city plans to complete the preliminary feasibility study, which has been underway since June of last year, during the first half of this year.




Incheon Chamber of Commerce Discusses Economic Cooperation with Uzbekistan


The Incheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry has discussed ways to expand economic exchange and cooperation with officials from Uzbekistan’s Sirdaryo Region. During a meeting with Uzbekistan’s Sirdaryo Region, both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in key industries, including automobiles and beauty products. Wolmi Sea Train to Suspend Service for Five Days from Feb. 2


The Wolmi Sea Train operating in Jung-gu, Incheon, will suspend operations from February 2 to 6. Incheon Transit Corporation said the suspension is for a legally required routine safety inspection. If no issues are found, service will resume on Saturday, February 7.
