Incheon To Host 2026 International Ocean And Safety Expo


The 2026 Korea Ocean Expo will take place from June 17 to 19 at Songdo Convensia in Incheon. The event is the only marine-specialized exhibition in the Seoul metropolitan area and is a global exhibition recognized by the International Congress and Convention Association (UFI). In its 8th edition this year, the expo will showcase advanced digital and eco-friendly technologies related to marine safety, following record achievements in 2024. Incheon Recruits Participants For Rooftop Urban Farming Program


Incheon Metropolitan City is recruiting participants for the “Haebaram Garden,” an urban agriculture experience program taking place at the Namchon Wholesale Market. The Haebaram Garden is located on the rooftop of the market’s fruit building and was created after being selected for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ urban agriculture space development project in 2021. The program provides citizens with various opportunities to experience urban farming. Applications can be submitted online on a first-come, first-served basis online, with further details available through the Incheon Metropolitan City website.





New Incheon Artists’ Center To Be Completed By 2034


To support the creative and networking activities of artists in Incheon, Incheon Metropolitan City plans to build the Incheon Artists’ Center in Michuhol-gu’s Yonghyeon–Hagik District. The city announced that it will invest a total project budget of 74.7 billion won to complete the facility by 2034. The building will consist of two basement levels and five above-ground floors with a total floor area of 10,500 square meters. The new center will include a performance hall, exhibition spaces, rehearsal rooms, workshops, office areas, and community spaces.





Incheon Port Opens Cultural Festival Celebrating History And Music


An urban cultural festival combining the history of Incheon’s Open Port area with music will take place later this month. Incheon Metropolitan City announced that the “2026 Incheon Open Port Festa” will be held from March 28 to 29 around the Sangsang Platform area. The festival will combine the Open Port area’s modern architecture, music performances and local brand content to create a multifaceted cultural program designed for both residents and tourists. The city plans to develop such festivals and broader cultural week events into urban cultural programs that connect cultural spaces and performances across the Open Port area, and encourages visitors to explore the district.





Incheon Launches Corporate Safety Legal Support Team For Local Companies


A plaque unveiling ceremony for the newly launched “Corporate Safety Legal Support Team” has been held on March 16 at Incheon Technopark. Incheon Metropolitan City launched the support team to help ease the legal burden on companies following the implementation of the Yellow Envelope Law and the strengthened Serious Accidents Punishment Act. The initiative follows a pledge made by Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok at the Incheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s New Year gathering, where he promised to serve as a legal safeguard for local businesses. With the new laws increasing the burden and uncertainty for businesses, the support team aims to strengthen companies’ ability to respond to legal challenges.





Incheon Launches Hands-On Unification Education Program


Incheon Metropolitan City will run a hands-on educational program to enhance understanding between the two Koreas and foster greater support for reunification. Called “Hands-on Inter-Korean Crafting,” the program designed for Incheon residents and public officials will run from March 31 through November. Hosted by the Incheon Unification Plus Center, the program combines educational sessions on everyday culture and historical events of South and North Korea with craft-making activities in a one-day class format. The classes will be held once or twice a month at the center's Unification Sarangbang, with a total of 20 sessions planned. Around 20 participants will be selected by lottery for each session.
