Incheon City Magazines Retain ISO Quality and Customer Satisfaction Certifications

Three of Incheon’s municipal newsletters have successfully maintained their International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for quality and customer satisfaction management systems. Incheon Metropolitan City announced on May 29 that Good Morning Incheon, Incheonjichang, and Incheon Now have retained their ISO certifications for Quality Management System (ISO 9001) and Customer Satisfaction Management System (ISO 10002) following a recent follow-up audit. The audit assessed whether the planning, editing, management, and operation of the city publications complied with the ISO’s quality management system. The publications received satisfactory evaluations across key ISO 9001 and ISO 10002 criteria, including organizational management, leadership, planning, support, operations, performance evaluation, and continuous improvement, demonstrating the response stability of the city's internationally standardized content quality management and citizen systems.

Incheon Finds All Hair Care Cosmetics on Market Meet Safety Standards

The Incheon Institute of Health and Environment has announced that all 50 hair care cosmetic products circulating in the market that have been tested recently met safety standards. The inspection was conducted amid growing public interest in scalp and hair health. The institute examined whether manufacturers complied with concentration limits for ingredients such as 2,4-diamino-pyrimidine-3-oxide, zinc pyrithione, and resorcinol, which are commonly used to strengthen hair roots and maintain scalp cleanliness but can cause skin irritation or contact dermatitis if used excessively. Test results showed that all tested products fully complied with cosmetic safety regulations and ingredient usage limits. 

Incheon Launches Major Digitization Project for Cadastral Records

The Incheon Metropolitan Government has begun a large-scale project to digitize important cadastral records currently stored in paper format. The project aims to better protect citizens' property rights and strengthen digital administrative services. The city said the 2026 cadastral records digitization project will run for approximately six months, from May 11 through Nov. 20. 

Incheon completed the digitization of approximately 230,000 cadastral records by last year, and plans to further strengthen its cadastral record management system through this project by including newly produced records and missing data.

Incheon Partners with Local Businesses to Support Socially Isolated Residents

Incheon Metropolitan City has launched a new community-based initiative aimed at helping socially isolated young adults and middle-aged residents reconnect with society through partnerships with local businesses. The project goes beyond traditional welfare services by using neighborhood stores as community hubs where participants can rebuild daily routines and foster social connections, drawing attention as a new model for community-based care. 

Incheon Office of Education Strengthens Continuity Between Kindergarten and Elementary Education

The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education is strengthening efforts to ensure a smooth transition between kindergarten and elementary school education while helping young children adapt successfully to primary school life. The initiative includes a workshop designed to enhance the capabilities of administrators from both kindergarten and elementary schools. Participants discussed effective strategies for implementing transition education programs and building stronger collaborative networks between institutions. 

Yeonsu-gu Unveils Five-Year AI-Based Smart City Plan

Incheon’s Yeonsu-gu has established a five-year smart city development plan aimed at addressing urban challenges in areas such as transportation, safety, the environment, public administration, and healthcare through artificial intelligence technologies. Although not legally required to formulate such a plan, the district enacted an ordinance on smart city development and operations to pursue long-term smart city projects under a structured roadmap. 

Coastal Ferry Discount Pass ‘Badaro’ to Go on Sale Starting June 1

The 2026 Badaro coastal ferry discount pass will go on sale starting June 1. According to the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, the pass is designed to help young travelers aged 35 and under, both Korean and international, explore Korea’s islands and coastal regions at a reduced cost. This year’s pass will be sold for 7,900 won and can be used through May 31 of next year. Pass holders can receive discounts of up to 50 percent on fares for 53 participating passenger ferries.
