Incheon to Host 2026 Incheon Disaster Resilience Leaders Forum

Incheon Metropolitan City will bring together global experts to discuss ways to strengthen disaster resilience in an era of compound risks and digital transformation

The city said it will host the 2026 Incheon Disaster Resilience Leaders Forum at Songdo Convensia from September 7 to 8

Now in its fifth year, the forum is jointly hosted by Incheon Metropolitan City, the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction Northeast Asia Office, and the Incheon Institute, with support from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety

The international event will bring together cities from Korea and abroad, international organizations and experts in disaster and safety management to share policies and experiences and promote global cooperation on strengthening urban resilience

Incheon Supports Fathers in Childcare with 2026 i-Sarang Festival

Incheon Metropolitan City will hold the 2026 i-Sarang Festival, titled “Reply! 7080: Dad is the Neighborhood Boss,” on September 12 at the gymnasium of Incheon Global Campus

Around 500 people, including families from the Incheon Dad Parenting Angels group and Incheon residents, are expected to take part

The event is designed to encourage fathers to take a more active role in childcare and promote communication among family members

The Incheon Dad Parenting Angels group is a representative community for fathers in childcare, supported by Incheon since 2021 to encourage men’s participation in parenting and promote a culture of shared childcare

The group has received a positive response from Incheon parents with children aged 10 and under through parenting education, mentoring, self-help groups and family-oriented programs

Sound Planet Festival 2026 to Bring Together 70 Artists from Korea and Abroad

Sound Planet Festival 2026, sponsored by Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Tourism Organization, will be held at Paradise City in Incheon from September 5 to 6.

The festival will feature five diverse stages, including a main stage and a secondary stage.

The city said it is focusing on developing the festival into a stay-oriented event that links large-scale events with Incheon tourism.

Visitors coming to Incheon for the performances will be offered various conveniences, including tourism and accommodation services, allowing them to enjoy the concerts while also experiencing the city’s diverse tourism attractions and extending their stay in the region.

Traveling Traditional Performance ‘Eolssu’ Kicks Off in 2nd Half of 2026

Incheon Metropolitan City will resume its traveling traditional performance series, “Eolssu,” on September 6, bringing the excitement and beauty of traditional Korean culture to communities across the city.

The second-half schedule of the 2026 Traveling Traditional Performance “Eolssu” will begin at the outdoor stage of Yongheunggung Park in Ganghwa-gun.

“Eolssu” is one of Incheon’s signature cultural welfare programs, bringing a wide range of traditional Korean performing arts, including pansori, samulnori and fusion gugak, to various parts of the city.

This year’s performances are being held eight times from May through October. To avoid the peak of the summer heat, the program has been divided into three performances in the first half of the year and five in the second half.

Creative Pansori ‘Eumme, Gi Sara!’ Discusses Twilight Childcare With Humor

The seventh performance of Incheon Culture and Arts Center’s signature matinee series, 2026 Coffee Concert, will be held at 2 pm. on September 23 at the center’s small theater.

The performance will feature the creative pansori play “Eumme, Gi Sara!” by the theater company Sinmyeongnagae.

The production explores “twilight childcare,” an emerging family issue in an era of low birth rates and an aging population, blending humor and emotion into a story about grandparents raising their grandchildren.

Combining the artistry of pansori, the fun of outdoor-style Korean theater and a family story that audiences of all ages can relate to, the production is designed to be easy and enjoyable for everyone.
