Incheon Metropolitan City (Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok) announced that it held the “1st Spatial Information Innovation Idea Conference of 2026” on April 14, with approximately 50 participants, including city and district officials and related experts.
The conference, which began in 2024 as a “collective intelligence-based spatial information consultative body,” marks its third year in 2026. This year’s event was particularly significant as a collaborative platform where the city and its districts worked together to translate the vision of “Spatial Intelligence AI City, Incheon” into practical implementation and explore ways to integrate advanced technologies into administrative processes.
The conference opened with a special lecture by an expert on emerging trends in spatial information technologies. In particular, the introduction of Geo-Physical AI (cognitive spatial intelligence) solutions and precision data analysis tools drew strong interest, serving as an opportunity to demonstrate the practical applicability of AI in complex administrative decision-making.
This was followed by the presentation of an enhanced “i Map” service, which incorporates 3D mesh data and user-customized analysis functions. Participants also shared plans for an integrated management system enabling the joint use of drone imagery by the city and its districts. Through these discussions, the city outlined detailed directions for system improvements while establishing a foundation for close collaboration by reviewing concrete implementation measures.
During the brainstorming session, participants exchanged ideas on innovative ways to apply new technologies to city administration to deliver services that citizens can directly experience. The ideas proposed during the session will be actively reflected in the city’s future spatial information policy development and system advancement.
Since 2024, Incheon Metropolitan City has held the conference on a quarterly basis, promoting practical administrative innovation through the adoption of advanced technologies, enhanced interdepartmental data sharing, and the development of field-oriented policies. Moving forward, the city plans to build on this foundation to strengthen the technical capabilities of both the city and its districts while ensuring balanced improvements in digital administrative services across Incheon.
Seo Jeong-ha, Head of the Incheon Land Information Division, stated, “This conference served as a meaningful opportunity to discover creative ideas for advancing into a Spatial Intelligence AI City.” He added, “We stand committed to promoting innovation in spatial information administration by combining new technologies with the creative ideas of public officials, thereby delivering tangible services to citizens.”
