Incheon City Launches '2024 Digital Learning Center Education Operation Project’

Incheon City held a report on the launch of the '2024 Digital Learning Center Education Operation Project' today (Sept. 9) and announced that it will begin full-scale training.

The program will utilize 28 main education sites, including county and district office computer training centers, administrative welfare centers, and libraries, along with two permanent digital learning centers. These facilities will provide digital education to approximately 19,000 individuals by December.

The curriculum will cover five main topics: 'Identity Verification and Public Services,' 'Finance and Phishing Prevention,' 'Artificial Intelligence,' 'Real-life Digital Utilization,' and 'Online Content Creation and Community Activities.'

Additionally, three digital experience zones and on-site education dubbed as the EduBus will be operated.



2024 Incheon Cultural Foundation Opens Applications for Overseas Cultural and Arts Exchange Support Program

Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Cultural Foundation are inviting applications from local cultural and arts organizations for the Overseas Cultural and Arts Exchange Support Program.

The program aims to support the expansion and activation of artistic activities by fostering sustainable international art networks for local art organizations.

Applications can be submitted through email until 6:00 PM on Friday, July 19, 2024.




Incheon City Receives Prime Minister's Commendation in Disaster Management Evaluation

Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it has been recognized as an 'Excellent' institution for the second consecutive year in the 2024 Disaster Management Evaluation organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, receiving the Prime Minister's Commendation.

Incheon received high marks across all areas of the evaluation, including common criteria, prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery. Along with the Prime Minister's Commendation, the city will receive a special grant of 163 million won.

This achievement surpasses last year's performance when Incheon was awarded the Minister of the Interior and Safety's Commendation for being selected as an 'Excellent' institution in the disaster management evaluation.




97.3% of Agricultural Products in Incheon Pass Pesticide Residue Tests in First Half of Year

The Incheon Institute of Public Health and Environment announced today (Sept. 9) that 97.3% (2,274) of the 2,338 agricultural products distributed in the city in the first half of this year were tested for harmfulness and found to be safe.

The number of nonconforming produce (2.7% nonconformance rate) was 55 for vegetables, 5 for spices (cilantro), and 4 for fruits, which is similar to the first half of last year's inspection results.

The Incheon Institute of Public Health and Environment promptly notified the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and relevant administrative agencies about the nonconforming produce to halt their distribution.

Additionally, all nonconforming produce were immediately destroyed in its entirety (totalling 1,157kg), and the producers were banned from shipping their products to any wholesale agricultural markets nationwide for one month.
