Incheon Songdo to Establish Core Stone Sculpture Park and Handbag Museum

Incheon has announced plans to develop a Core Stone Sculpture Park and a Handbag Museum in the designated cultural park area within Songdo International City's Districts 6 and 8.
The city has received a donation of more than 100 core stone sculptures from sculptor Kim Chang-gon, including 50 large-scale pieces that weigh more than 300 tons each.
Additionally, the city has accepted a donation from handbag manufacturer Simone to establish a Handbag Museum. The museum will showcase a diverse collection of handbags spanning from the 1500s to the 21st century.
Incheon City Graduates 25 Citizen Gardeners

Incheon Metropolitan City has held the completion ceremony for the [2024 Citizen Gardener Training Program], aimed at promoting a garden culture led by the citizens, at the Forest Classroom in Gyeyang Park.
The citizen gardeners spent 70 hours over 11 sessions learning various care techniques for gardens, trees, and more.
The project, which was first launched in 2018, has trained a total of 147 citizen gardeners, including the 25 graduated this year. The program plans to make Incheon healthier and greener by planting flowers and cleaning up the environment in the city's underprivileged downtown area early next year.

Marking the second half of the 8th popular election period, Incheon Metropolitan City hosted a policy meeting that also served as a gathering with county and district heads yesterday (the 8th) at the City Hall conference room.
With the county and district heads and key city officials present, they shared pressing issues specific to their respective regions.
Mayor Yoo emphasized, “In the latter half of the 8th popular election period, we will focus solely on Incheon, its citizens, and the future. We will address current issues, enhance citizens' happiness, and implement policies that solidify the identity of 'Incheon citizens.'” He added, “Especially, we will concentrate all our efforts to bridge the gaps between regions through continuous dialogue and collaboration with county and district heads."
Incheon Coast Guard to Conduct Special Crackdown on Unlicensed Ferry Operations This Summer

The Incheon Coast Guard is launching a special crackdown on unlicensed ferry operations in anticipation of the summer vacation season, aiming to prevent maritime safety accidents.
This special crackdown will run until October 9 and will focus on island areas, ports, and harbors.
According to the Excursion Ship and Ferry Business Act, individuals who receive money using fishing boats, ferries, or water leisure crafts, or who transport people or goods without a license, shall be punished by imprisonment with labor for up to one year, or by a fine not exceeding 10 million won.
