Popular Beaches and Waterparks Crowded with Vacationers Amid Scorching Heat


A heat wave warning is in effect for most regions, with daytime temperatures soaring to around 33 degrees Celsius. As the intense heat continues, famous beaches and water parks nationwide are filled with vacationers.

In Jung-gu, Incheon, families and couples are cooling off at Wangsan, Eurwangni, (왕산, 을왕리) and Seonnyeobawi beaches. At Hanagae Beach (하나개 비치) on Muuido (무의도) Island, visitors are walking along the coastal trail and taking photos with the rocky cliffs and sea as a backdrop.

The waiting room at Incheon Port Coastal Passenger Terminal is bustling with vacationers heading to the islands from early morning, marking the peak holiday season.

As tropical nights persist in many regions, the Korea Meteorological Administration forecasts that the relentless heat, with morning temperatures between 24 and 28 degrees Celsius and daytime temperatures between 29 and 35 degrees Celsius, will continue for the time being





Scorching Heat and Elevated Ozone Levels Forecasted Nationwide


The city of Incheon has advised citizens to take precautions for their health as high concentrations of ozone are expected with the scorching heat following the end of the rainy season.

The city monitors real-time ozone levels at 25 urban air monitoring stations and operates an ozone alert system. An advisory is issued if the hourly average concentration reaches 0.12 ppm or higher, a warning at 0.3 ppm or higher, and a severe warning at 0.5 ppm or higher.

Citizens are advised to stay indoors and avoid outdoor activities when an ozone advisory is issued.

A city official stated, “We urge citizens to sign up for alert notifications and remain indoors when an ozone advisory is in effect.




First IFEZ Global Honorary Reporters Chosen to Promote City on Social Media


The Incheon Free Economic Zone has officially launched the 2024 1st IFEZ (아이페즈) Global Honorary Reporters with an inauguration ceremony.

As part of a promotional project using SNS and new media, the program selected three Koreans and eight foreigners who passed the interview process. 

The selected Global Honorary Reporters will participate in various activities, including familiarization tours of key locations in the Incheon Free Economic Zone. They will also cover events, programs, and tourism resources to write at least one article per month on their personal SNS channels.  

Soh Jue Shuen (소 주 슈엔), a Malaysian national selected as a Reporter, shared her enthusiasm: “I want to explore the positive impacts of urban development plans on the community. I am excited to witness the growth here and contribute to sharing it with the world.




Incheon Launches Center to Tackle Labor Shortage in Root Industry


The city of Incheon has launched the ‘Incheon Root Industry Foreign Worker Center’ near Geomdan Sageori Station in Seo-gu to support foreign workers in the root industry. This initiative aims to address the labor shortage as the proportion of foreign workers in the root industry continues to rise.

The center provides various programs, such as ▲training on the coversion to skilled workers visa (E74) to improve foreign worker treatment, ▲ Legal, administrative, and medical consultations for stable residency, ▲Korean language education by language group ▲cultural experience programs, and ▲worker exchange events. An Incheon city official said, “We are dedicated to establishing systematic policies to help foreign workers adapt quickly to industrial sites and work stably.
