Jungbu Regional Office of Employment and Labor Inspects Construction Sites With Foreign Workers in Response to Heatwaves 


The Jungbu Regional Employment and Labor Office conducted a special field inspection on the 7th to prevent heat-related illnesses among construction workers and to ensure the safety of foreign workers. 

To assure the safety of construction workers exposed to heat-related illnesses such as heatstroke, the office checked whether workplaces were complying with heatwave-related safety rules, and provided guidance on the use of work stoppages by employers or workers when risks arise. 

In addition, the office conducted inspections and interviews regarding the safety management of foreign workers, checking the workers’ living conditions, including the availability of air conditioning and fire extinguishing equipment.   






INSPIRE Brings Westlife to Korea in November 


Westlife, known for their hits “You Raise Me Up” and “Uptown Girl”, is coming to Korea. 

Mohegan INSPIRE Entertainment Resort announced that it will host Westlife’s concert at the INSPIRE Arena in Yeongjong, Incheon on November 23rd.

Westlife, coming back to Korea after 13 years, is a global pop band from Ireland that has been beloved for the past 25 years and has produced numerous hit songs. 



Songdo Central Park Ranks in “50 Beautiful Urban Forests” by the Korea Forest Service 


The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced on the 7th that Songdo International City’s Central Park has been selected as one of the “50 Beautiful Urban Forests” by the Korea Forest Service. 

The Korea Forest Service evaluated 916 urban forests across the country based on public preference surveys, accessibility, ecological health, and usage levels to select 50 of them. 

Songdo Central Park was selected in the “scenic improvement” category for its theme of harmonizing natural and urban landscapes. 

Yoon Won-seok, the Commissioner of the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, stated that they are pleased that Central Park has been named among the beautiful urban forests. They hope more citizens come to Songdo to experience the urban landscape.  






Ganghwa County Holds an Exhibition of Rush Grass Crafts 


Incheon’s Ganghwa County announced that it will hold a “Wanggol (Cyperus exaltatus) Crafts Exhibition” from the 8th to the 16th. 

The exhibition, planning to be held at the Hwammulseok Cultural Center in Ganghwa, will feature 8 award-winning pieces from the 35th Ganghwa County Wanggol (Cyperus exaltatus) Crafts Competition and 6 award-winning pieces from the Incheon Craft Competition. 

The 35th Wanggol (Cyperus exaltatus) Crafts Competition and Exhibition, held this year, is organized annually to widely promote the excellence of Ganghwa County’s specialty Cyperus exaltatus crafts both locally and internationally. 

Ganghwa Hwammulseok is praised for its intricate, elegant and delicate weaving, as well as its vibrant yet modest patterns.
