Yeonsu District to Host ‘Picnic Lunch Contest’ at Food Culture Festival


Yeonsu District in Incheon City is seeking participants for the 14th Yeonsu Food Culture Festival ‘Picnic Lunch Contest’ until the 30th of this month. The event aims to discover standout restaurants in Yeonsu and promote local food tourism.

This year’s contest, themed ‘Picnic,’ will evaluate the taste and presentation of dishes that are either currently sold or will be added to menus, prepared with the care and attention of packing a picnic lunch.

The evaluation will be based on criteria such as professionalism, marketability, creativity, and taste composition. Scores from a panel of professional judges and a resident evaluation group will be combined. Selected establishments will be designated as ‘Delicious Restaurant.



Incheon City Announces ‘Voluntary Animal Registration Reporting Period’


To promote pet dog registration and update registration information, Incheon City will operate a ‘Voluntary Animal Registration Reporting Period’ from August 5th to September 30th.

According to the Animal Protection Act, dogs over two months old must be registered within 30 days. Owners must also report any changes, such as a change of owner, address, contact information, or the death of the registered animal. 

Non-compliance may result in a fine of up to KRW 1 million.

Pet dog registration can be done at designated animal hospitals, and changes can be reported online through the ‘National Animal Protection Information System’ and ‘Government 24’.




Incheon City to Support Promotional Video Production for Food Hygiene Establishments


Incheon City has announced a new initiative to support the production of promotional videos for food hygiene establishments. The project will be carried out by the Incheon Food Industry Promotion Support Center, the first of its kind in the country.

The initiative will assist food manufacturing and processing companies, as well as food service establishments, with the entire process of creating promotional videos, including shooting, editing, and uploading. 

The aim is to boost brand awareness and sales through high-quality videos that highlight the production and cooking processes of key products.


An official from Incheon City mentioned that this project will help food hygiene establishments improve their digital marketing skills and provide growth opportunities despite the challenging economic environment, ultimately contributing to the revitalization of the domestic food industry.




Incheon City Practices Community Sharing with Harvest from Urban Garden


Incheon Metropolitan City is donating 500kg of vegetables, including lettuce, peppers, and eggplants, grown in the ‘Incheon Community Urban Garden, which is also knows as 이음 garden’ to local free meal centers over eight sessions, as part of its community sharing efforts.

Eum Garden, located in Songdo-dong, Yeonsu District, was established to promote active participation and communication among community members through shared garden management.

Currently, 330 citizen gardens and 25 community gardens are in operation.


Since 2021, urban agriculture managers and volunteers have been cultivating vegetables in Eum Garden and donating approximately 4 tons annually to the local free meal center ‘Kkotdongnae Hall,’ practicing valuable sharing with neighbors in need.
