A historical park commemorating Lee Seung-hoon Peter, the first Korean to receive Catholic baptism, is set to open next month in Incheon.

The Incheon City announced that the historical park, developed at Lee Seung-hoon's burial site in San 153-3, Jangsu-dong, Namdong-gu, will open in early next month.

Incheon City has been designating and managing Lee Seung-hoon's burial site as a city-designated memorial since 2011.

In preparation for the park's opening, the city has improved surrounding road conditions by expanding sections of Munemi-ro and Baekbeom-ro, which were experiencing severe bottlenecks, by one lane each.






Belgium's Ghent University 'MarineUGent Korea' Opens in Incheon's Songdo


The world's largest marine convergence research institute, Belgium's Ghent University 'MarineUGent Korea', is set to open its doors at the Incheon Global Campus in Songdo.

The official opening ceremony for MarineUGent Korea will take place on the 22nd at Ghent University in the Incheon Global Campus (IGC), Incheon Free Economic Zone.

Established in 2012, the MarineUGent research institute is recognized as a world-leading research institution in fields such as marine science, environmental studies, and bio-convergence research, with over 500 professors and researchers.

The opening of the MarineUGent research institute in Incheon's Songdo is expected to play a significant role as a global anchor institution for marine research in South Korea. It is anticipated to contribute greatly to global industry-academia cooperation, the creation of a blue bio cluster, and South Korea's advancement as a leading maritime nation.




Bupyeong: Tailored One-on-One Hygiene Guidance for Foreign-Operated Businesses


Bupyeong-gu in Incheon City will conduct 1:1 tailored hygiene guidance through on-site visits to 204 businesses operated by foreigners and naturalized Koreans until the 30th of this month.

This hygiene guidance initiative aims to identify hygiene vulnerabilities in these establishments, suggest improvements, prevent food poisoning, and enhance overall hygiene management capabilities.

Bupyeong-gu will provide customized hygiene guidance for foreigners on food hygiene laws and regulations, including hygienic handling standards for food, compliance for food service operators, and facility standards for food service establishments.



"Welcoming Foreign Patients"... 'Team Medical Incheon' Launches Overseas Promotion


Incheon City and Incheon Tourism Organization are initiating overseas promotional activities and fam tours to boost the attraction of foreign patients, which had slowed due to the medical crisis that began earlier this year.

The city and the organization have formed and are operating 'Team Medical Incheon' in collaboration with local medical institutions, patient recruiters, and service providers.

Team Medical Incheon was dispatched to Almaty, the economic center of Kazakhstan, on the 4th of last month. There, they introduced major stakeholders to the advanced hospitals in the Incheon area and promoted local attractions that patients could visit after surgeries or procedures.

In the second half of this year, they plan to organize several fam tours, inviting overseas medical agencies and related travel agencies to Incheon. These tours will showcase the medical treatment process for foreign patients.
