Incheon City Implements Measures to Protect the Homeless and Residents in slum area from Cold Waves
Incheon City has announced a comprehensive plan to protect the homeless and residents in slum areas in preparation for the winter cold wave.
The city has declared a protection period from December to February, during which it will provide winter supplies and enhance day and night patrols for the homeless and residents in slum areas.
Incheon City’s Seafood Passes 94 Safety Inspections, Confirming Safety
Incheon City has revealed the results of its year-long seafood safety inspection, confirming that the local seafood is safe from harmful substances such as radiation and heavy metals.
This inspection covered 94 items across 41 types of seafood, including commonly consumed varieties such as crab and shrimp. Going forward, Incheon City will continue to conduct safety checks to ensure citizens can consume seafood with confidence and will promote awareness of seafood safety through various outreach activities.
Incheon City Strengthens Wildfire Prevention
Incheon City will engage in wildfire prevention activities from November 1 to December 15, as part of the Fire prevention month.
This year, Incheon experienced seven wildfires due to frequent rainfall driven by climate change.
During the Fire prevention month, the city will operate a Wildfire Prevention Headquarters, employ 132 wildfire prevention experts, and deploy thermal drones, fire engines, portable water pumps, and other essential equipment to prevent and combat wildfires.
The city will also intensify its crackdown on illegal burning activities.
Incheon to Host Distributed APEC Meetings Next Year, Aiming to Enhance City Brand Value
Selected as a host city for the upcoming APEC (the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) meetings next year, Incheon City has begun efforts to enhance its brand value.
Incheon plans to use the successful hosting of the third APEC Senior Officials’ Meeting and ministerial meetings, to be held in Songdo International City from July to October, as a steppingstone toward becoming a “Global Top Ten City.”
The annual APEC meetings bring together leaders and ministers from 21 Asia-Pacific countries, and Incheon plans to take advantage of this global spotlight
to showcase its development.
