Incheon Releases 400,000 Clams into Muui Island Waters 

Incheon took steps to restore marine resources yesterday by releasing 400,000 young clams into the waters off Muui Island in Jung-gu. 

The clams released this time are high-quality seed clams, measuring 1 cm in size, which were carefully cultivated over 170 days from fertilized eggs obtained from healthy clams by the Incheon Fisheries Resource Research Institute in May. 

Clams are rich in various minerals such as calcium and iron, making them a popular health food. They are particularly known for their effectiveness in fatigue recovery and blood formation.

This release is expected to enrich marine resources off the coast of Incheon and contribute to increasing the income of local fishermen. 





Incheon Holds a Mental Health Workshop for Mental Health Professionals 

Incheon held a “Mental Health Practitioners Wellness Workshop” on November 11 and 12, focusing on emotional support, communication, and fostering unity to prevent burnout among mental health professionals. 

The workshop, held under the theme “Mental Health Practitioners Healing and Communication Day! Together!,” was attended by 200 mental health professionals from 32 organizations, including Incheon City, health centers, regional and local mental health welfare centers, suicide prevention centers, integrated addiction management support centers, and psychiatric rehabilitation facilities. 

The workshop was evaluated as an important opportunity to support the psychological recovery of mental health professionals, thereby enhancing the quality of care for citizens’ mental health. 





Cultural Heritage Playground: Creating Opportunities for Understanding and Embracing Other Cultures 

Incheon will hold a presentation on the results of the “Cultural Heritage Playground in Incheon, the More You Know, the More Lovely” program on November 16 (Saturday) at 10 AM, at the Jemulpo Club. 

The “Cultural Heritage Playground in Incheon, the More You Know, the More Lovely” program was launched in connection with the UNESCO Sustainable Development Goal of Quality Education,” aiming for the sustainable development of Incheon’s cultural heritage value and its expanded use. 

The city plans to continue the program next year and will apply for UNESCO Korean National Commission’s official certification for Sustainable Development Education (ESD). 







Expansion of Yeongjong Station Public Parking Lot Expected to Alleviate Parking Shortage

Incheon completed the large-scale expansion of the Yeongjong Station public parking lot, located in Unbuk-dong, Jung-gu, and held a completion ceremony on the 12th. 

This project was initiated to address the growing need of parking space as the number of residents using Yeongjong Station increased, thanks to improved transportation accessibility to Seoul and the metropolitan area. 

An additional 223 parking spaces were added to the existing 178 spaces, creating a total of 401 parking spaces, with a budget of 2 billion won allocated for the project.
