Incheon Institute Suggests 9 Locations for Democratization Movement Memorial Hall


To commemorate the spirit of the democratization movement in Incheon, several potential sites for a memorial hall have been proposed.

The Incheon Institute, a think tank for Incheon City, has recommended nine locations based on its feasibility study report. These include eight existing facilities and one new construction site.

The proposed existing facilities include Wolmi Culture Center, Incheon City Industrial Mission, the old Civic Hall Shelter, Incheon Luxury Goods Hall, Subong Cultural Center, Incheon Museum Park, Sungri Hall at Incheon University Jemulpo Campus, and the Incheon North Workers Comprehensive Welfare Center. The new construction site suggested is the area around Jayu Park.

According to the Incheon Institute, these sites were chosen based on their historical significance, connectivity with local cultural resources, accessibility, and the feasibility of securing them.




Yeonsu District to Host Child Abuse Prevention Week from November 18-23

The INCHEON YEONSU SUPPORT CENTER FOR CHILDCARE in Incheon is organizing a week-long event from November 18th to 23rd to raise awareness about children's rights and the importance of preventing child abuse, in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Day and Child Abuse Prevention Week.

In collaboration with Save the Children, the event will include an online children's rights film festival. At Dodam Dodam Toy World and I Love Kids Dreamland, interactive exhibitions titled "Respect Children's Rights" will be held. In addition,, a "3GO Initial Quiz" event will be hosted on the center's social media.

On Saturday, the 23rd, "Suksuk Pangpang Playground" will be set up at the Yeonsu District Office Hanmaeum Plaza. This event will feature various play and experience booths operated by the Family Center, Yeonsu Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, Sunhak Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, and local daycares.





3rd Annual Korean Traditional Music Concert ‘Korean Traditional Music Choir, Flying to Soar’

The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education Korean Traditional Music Choir will hold its 3rd annual concert on the 22nd at the Grand Theater of the Incheon Student Education and Culture Center.

The city of choir was established in 2022 and rooted in the rich artistic heritage of Baengnyeongdo Island, the home of Pansori Shimcheongga. The choir auditions student and adult members annually. It offers comprehensive Korean traditional music choir education through regular classes led by professional Pansori and choir instructors.

Building on the 2022 performance of 'Shimcheong' and the 2023 rendition of 'Paldominyu,' this year's concert will showcase Pansori 'Heungboga.' Audiences can look forward to appreciating both the Korean traditional music choir’s interpretation of 'Heungboga,' created by the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education, and the traditional Pansori 'Heungboga' by master singer Nam Sang-il.




Ganghwa Gun in Incheon to Hold Special Dementia Family Lecture on the 20th

Ganghwa Gun in Incheon is seeking participants for a special lecture of the 'Dementia Family School,' which connects dementia patients, their families, and key community leaders.

This lecture, titled ‘Answering Questions About Dementia,’ is designed to improve dementia awareness among local residents and foster a dementia-friendly environment in the face of societal changes like super-aging.

The sessions will be held at the Northern Cognitive Health Center on the 20th and at the Southern Cognitive Health Center on December 11th, starting at 10 a.m. each day.
