Incheon to Hold Public Hearing on Expansion of Korean Immigration Museum
The Incheon Metropolitan City Museum will host a public hearing on November 29 at the 4th-floor auditorium of the Korea-China Cultural Center to discuss the expansion of the Korean Immigration Museum.
The expansion aims to highlight Incheon’s symbolic role in immigration history by transforming the museum into a global exhibition space covering Korean immigration worldwide.
Citizens can submit their opinions until November 29, with submission forms available on Incheon City’s official website.
New Ferry ‘Haenuriho’ Begins Operation to Five Islands
Incheon City announced the launch of the car ferry Haenuriho on November 25, connecting five islands near Deokjeokdo and the Incheon Coastal Passenger Terminal.
The 487-ton Haenuriho can carry up to 388 passengers and 15 vehicles.
Departing daily at 9 a.m. from the terminal, it stops at Mungapdo, Jido, Uldo, Baegado, and Gulupdo before returning to the terminal by 4 p.m.
Applications Open for ‘Mallang Gaetti School’ Rural Study Program
The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education is accepting applications until December 6 for the Mallang Gaetti School program for the 2025 academic year.
This program allows urban students and their families to attend rural schools and experience the local culture and nature through specialized school curriculums and weekend activities.
Following a pilot run this year, the program will officially launch in 2025 across 16 schools in Ganghwa and Ongjin.
Interested families can download the application form from the office’s website and submit it via email with a participation statement and agreement form.
Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok Announces Overhaul Plans for Incheon United FC
Yoo Jeong-bok, the owner of Incheon United FC, unveiled the establishment of the Flying Innovation Committee to strengthen the team’s competitiveness and secure promotion to the K-League 1 by 2025.
The committee will focus on analyzing team performance, preparing transfer market strategies, restructuring team operations, and improving communication with stakeholders.
Despite relegation from the K-League 1 in 2024, the club aims to turn this crisis into an opportunity by implementing bold reforms to avoid repeating past failures.
