Incheon City Receives 'Excellent' Rating in Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Evaluation for Price Stabilization Policies
Incheon City has been recognized as the top-performing city among metropolitan cities, receiving the highest rating of 'A' in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's "2024 Local Price Stability Management Evaluation."
This evaluation was conducted based on 12 indicators across five areas, including the management of local public utility rates and support for the activation of businesses selling goods at affordable prices, covering 243 local governments nationwide.
Incheon City was commended for its efforts in stabilizing prices, such as freezing natural gas prices and transportation fares.
The evaluation also recognized Incheon City's efforts in conducting price stability campaigns with local merchants, increasing the number of businesses selling goods at affordable prices from 218 to 364 by adding 146 new businesses, and supporting them through programs such as cashback for Incheon Gift Certificates.
Incheon City to Implement 'Cashless Incheon Bus' Starting January 1, 2025
Incheon Metropolitan City will fully implement the "Cashless Incheon Bus" policy starting January 1, 2025.
The "Cashless Incheon Bus" system aims to enhance citizen convenience and operational efficiency by using transportation cards for bus rides. This policy is based on the results of three phases of pilot operations.
The cashless system will be applied to 194 city bus routes operating under the semi-public system.
However, routes in areas such as Ganghwa and Ongjin, where alternative transportation options like subways are limited and cash usage is high among the elderly, will be monitored, and the cashless system may be introduced at a later stage.
Incheon Philharmonic Orchestra Announces 2025 Season Part 1 Program
The Incheon Philharmonic Orchestra (IPO), known for its exciting programming, has unveiled its 2025 Season Part 1 program.
The 2025 Season Part 1 will feature concerts from January to March.
The opening concert of 2025 will feature the <2025 Classic Essence series>, showcasing the best of classical music.
In addition, various themed concerts are planned, including the <2025 New Year's Concert> with guest conductor Lee Jae-jun and violinist Lim Ji-young, the <Incheon Young Artist Concert> aimed at discovering and nurturing young local musicians, and the <2025 Chamber Series I: Talk Concert with Pianist Ahn In-mo>, offering audiences a chance to enjoy classical music in unique and engaging ways.
Learn About Prehistory and Archaeology at Geomdan Prehistory Museum During Winter Break
Incheon’s Geomdan Prehistory Museum will offer winter break educational programs, <Prehistoric Time Travel> and <Our Neighborhood Archaeologists>, from January 3 to 14, 2025.
These programs are free for children aged 6 through 6th grade. <Prehistoric Time Travel> will take place on Tuesdays, with both morning and afternoon sessions, while <Our Neighborhood Archaeologists> will be offered on Fridays, also in the morning and afternoon, over a two-week period.
<Prehistoric Time Travel> is an educational program for children aged 6 to 2nd grade, where they will learn about the prehistoric era and have the opportunity to create their own pencil holder through a hands-on activity.
<Our Neighborhood Archaeologists> is for children in 3rd to 6th grade, where participants can experience the profession of an archaeologist through activities such as artifact excavation and restoration.
