Incheon Expands Policy for Multi-Child Support Cards
The Incheon Metropolitan Government announced that starting January 1, 2025, the eligibility age for the “Incheon New iMoa Card” will be raised from 15 years old to 18 years old.
The New iMoa Card is a program aimed at providing financial support to families with two or more children, fostering a pro-birth social environment.
Residents can apply for the card at NH Bank branches in Incheon. Detailed information about the card’s issuance and benefits is available on the city’s official website or the New iMoa Card website.
Incheon Leads Unique Changes in Traditional Markets
The Incheon Metropolitan Government successfully completed its cultural tourism market development project in six traditional markets in 2024.
This project, in collaboration with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and local districts, aims to enhance market competitiveness and boost the local economy by leveraging unique cultural and tourism resources.
Markets implemented improvements such as upgrading facilities, launching specialized programs, creating private-label products, promoting via social media, and offering merchant training programs. These efforts have highlighted the distinctive features of each market while fostering meaningful changes.
Incheon Strengthens Seafood Safety with Continued Testing
The Incheon Institute of Health and Environment conducted safety tests on 1,458 seafood products this year to ensure the safety of seafood distributed in the region.
The tests targeted seafood sold in fish markets, supermarkets, traditional markets, and online shopping platforms, as well as seafood supplied to schools and daycare centers. The inspections checked for harmful substances such as radiation, heavy metals, and veterinary drugs.
The test results are publicly available on the city’s and institute’s websites, allowing citizens to verify seafood safety. The findings are also being used as baseline data to enhance safety management and build public trust in seafood distributed in Incheon.
Bupyeong Library to Offer Winter Reading Program for Students in 2025
The Bupyeong Library under the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education will host a special winter program, “Growing Bookstore,” to help elementary students improve literacy and math skills.
The program includes [Hello, I’m a 1st Grader Now] for incoming 1st graders,
[Board Game Math Challenge] for incoming 2nd and 3rd graders, [Historical Journeys Through Classic Novels] for incoming 3rd to 6th graders.
