Incheon Replaces 2,423 Old Lights in 19 Traditional Markets Over 5 Years
The project to replace outdated lights in Incheon’s traditional markets with eco-friendly LED lights has been completed.
Incheon Metropolitan City replaced 2,423 old lights in 19 traditional markets with LED lights over the past five years, from 2020 to last year.
LED lights are more energy-efficient and last longer than traditional fluorescent lights, helping reduce electricity costs for market vendors.
Incheon Port Achieves Top Results in E-Commerce and Multimodal Transport Nationwide
The Incheon Port Authority (IPA) reported that last year’s cargo volume from e-commerce and sea-air multimodal transport reached 69,000 tons.
This figure was the highest among 10 ports nationwide. Incheon Port’s e-commerce cargo volume reached 25,640 tons, a 29.6% increase from the previous year, marking its 11th consecutive year as the top port for e-commerce.
The port is recognized for its strong infrastructure, including the Korea-China ferry routes and Incheon Customs’ special express cargo center.
Incheon Cheongna IC Entrance Road Expansion to Begin Next Month
The project to expand the entrance road to Incheon’s Cheongna IC, known for frequent traffic congestion, is set to officially begin.
Incheon Housing and City Development Corporation(iH) recently received approval from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport for the project. The plan involves expanding the entrance road of the Incheon International Airport Expressway toward Seoul from one lane to two lanes by December 2026.
iH plans to select a construction company and start work as early as next month.
Incheon Buk-gu Library Launches ‘7-Week Essay Writing with Authors’ Program
Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education’s Buk-gu Library announced on February 6 that it will run a program called 7-Week Essay Writing with Authors to help citizens improve their writing skills and promote reading and writing culture.
According to the library, this program will be the first session of the 2025 Citizen Author School. It will take place every Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., from February 21 to April 4, at the Buk-gu Library Winter Lecture Room. All Incheon residents, including teachers and parents, can apply.
Applications can be submitted on the Buk-gu Library website from February 6 to 16 on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, contact the library’s Reading Culture Department.
