Incheon City Expands 'Child Dream Allowance' Support
Incheon Metropolitan City has expanded the eligibility for the ‘Child Dream Allowance,’ part of the ‘i Plus 1 Billion Dream’ Project. Previously, the allowance was only available to children born in 2016, but now children born in 2017 are also eligible to apply.
The Child Dream Allowance will gradually be extended to children aged 8 to 18 after the child allowance is discontinued. Starting in 2025, children born in 2016 (9 years old) and 2017 (8 years old) will receive 50,000 KRW per month.
This year, the eligible applicants are children born in 2016 who have not yet applied for the Child Dream Allowance, as well as children born in 2017 (8 years old). Applications can be made during the month of their birthday, and the eligibility requirements include having both the child and their parents registered as residents of Incheon.
Incheon City Holds Children’s Drawing Contest
Incheon Metropolitan City is hosting the 2025 Children’s Safety Drawing Contest.
The contest aims to encourage children to creatively express the importance of safety and raise awareness of safety issues.
The contest will be held from February 5 to February 28, 2025, and is open to children nationwide who were born between 2013 and 2018. The theme of the contest will focus on preventing child safety accidents and illustrating the world children envision as safe. Children will be encouraged to represent various safety hazards they may encounter in their daily lives through their drawings.
Incheon City to Hold 2025 Michuhol Book Declaration Ceremony and Book Concert
Incheon Metropolitan City's Michuhol Library will hold the ‘2025 Michuhol Book Declaration Ceremony and Book Concert’ at 2 PM on February 22 at the auditorium.
The event is designed to widely promote the selection of the Michuhol Book to the public. It will feature a variety of activities, including a meeting with the author (book talk), as well as performances and exhibitions.

Incheon Metropolitan City Dance Theatre Officially Invited to 2025 Taiwan Lantern Festival
Incheon Metropolitan City Dance Theatre has been officially invited to the opening ceremony of the ‘Taiwan Lantern Festival,’ one of the world’s most renowned festivals in terms of scale and composition.
The Taiwan Lantern Festival is an event officially organized by the Taiwanese government. This year, it will begin on February 12 and run until February 23, with a special stage set up at the Taoyuan City High-Speed Rail Station Square.
The Incheon Dance Theatre will perform its representative traditional dance piece, Pungnyu Gain, on the 11th, the night before the festival, and on the 12th, the official opening day, at the special stage. Notably, the lantern-lighting ceremony on the 12th is expected to attract even more attention, as Taiwan’s President, Lai Ching-te, is scheduled to light the lanterns.
