Incheon to Launch Master Plan for Scenic Route Designation
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will hold the kick-off meeting for the "Scenic Route Master Plan" on March 4th at the City Hall. The project focuses on designating tourist routes that incorporate natural scenery and cultural heritage.
The system for designating scenic routes was introduced with the amendment of the "Road Act" in October 2023. Under this system, road management authorities can propose roads with outstanding natural, historical, cultural, and artistic value for designation as scenic routes, subject to committee review and approval by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport.
Incheon City plans to use this project to identify the best routes, establish a scenic route network, and review comprehensive strategies for branding and commercialization unique to the city.
