Incheon Achieves Highest Birth Rate Growth in the Nation


Incheon reported the highest birth rate increase among the 17 provinces in South Korea last year, with a growth rate of 11.6%. This represents the largest increase since 2014. 

Incheon's total fertility rate was 0.76 last year, slightly above the national average of 0.75.

Officials from Incheon attributed this achievement to the '100 Million Plus I Dream' policy, which provides 100 million won in financial support to every child born in Incheon until they reach 18 years old.





Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority Boosts Environmental and Economic Growth with Reclaimed Wastewater


The Incheon Free Economic Zone or IFEZ announced yesterday that it has signed a MOU with Incheon Total Energy to promote the use of reclaimed wastewater at Songdo G-Tower.

Under this agreement, the IFEZ will provide approximately 180,000 tons of reclaimed wastewater annually from the Songdo sewage treatment plant to Incheon Total Energy. Incheon Total Energy will utilize this water for industrial purposes and will collaborate on identifying new uses for the reclaimed wastewater.

An IFEZ representative stated, "We will continue to explore and take measures to transform Incheon into a global model for sustainable cities."






Incheon Police Create Video to Prevent Traffic Accident Fatalities


The Incheon Metropolitan Police's Public Relations Office has released a promotional video titled "바카스," designed to help reduce traffic accident fatalities.

"바카스" stands for "Busy but Car Stop," and the 30-second video was created with the help of police officers, students from Inha University, and staff from the Incheon Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries.

Furthermore, the Incheon Police have prepared 100,000 safe driving stickers, set to be distributed nationwide in partnership with the Korea Trucking Association. 





Ferry Service Between Incheon and Dandong Resumes After Nearly Three Years


The ferry service connecting Incheon and Dandong, a North Korean border city in China, is scheduled to resume after a hiatus of 2 years and 10 months.

The Dandong Ferry Company announced that it plans to restart operations on the Incheon-Dandong route in April, deploying the 24,748-ton 'Oriental Pearl 8'. 

This ferry can carry 1,500 passengers and 214 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units) of cargo.

With the resumption of the Incheon-Dandong route, the number of passenger ferry routes linking Incheon with Chinese cities will increase from six to seven.
