Marine Disaster Rescue Unit Begins Official Operations


Yesterday, the Marine Disaster Rescue Unit was formally launched during an inauguration ceremony held at the Korea Coast Guard Headquarters auditorium. This marks the beginning of a coordinated effort between the Coast Guard and civilian personnel to address marine safety.

The unit, comprising over 11,000 individuals from 20 Coast Guard stations nationwide, is tasked with conducting search, rescue, and salvage operations during maritime emergencies, as well as participating in preventive measures to reduce accidents.

Members of the unit include fishermen, marine experts, and other civilian contributors, who will work alongside Coast Guard personnel to ensure the safety of marine environments and raise awareness of safety culture in maritime communities.




Incheon Implements Measures to Support Single-Parent and Grandparent Families


Incheon Metropolitan City announced plans to implement the "Incheon Single-Parent Family Plan" to stabilize the lives of single-parent and grandparent-led households while providing assistance for raising children. The city stated that these policies will now be actively pursued.

The plan is built on four major goals: providing stability for single-parent families, strengthening responsibility for non-custodial parents, improving self-reliance, and building a robust support structure.

As of 2023, Incheon ranks third nationwide in the number of single-parent households, with 102,491 families. The city's low-income single-parent households have steadily increased, reaching 15,293 at the end of last year, up from 13,789 in 2020.





Incheon City Conducts Safety Training for Senior Job Program Participants


Incheon Metropolitan City announced on the 27th that it has conducted safety training for approximately 300 participants in this year’s senior job program.

The training, which complies with Article 29 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, requires senior job program participants to complete at least six hours of safety education annually. This initiative aims to ensure a safe working environment and prevent potential workplace accidents.

In addition, Incheon City has allocated a total budget of 240 billion won for the senior job program this year, providing employment and social engagement opportunities to around 55,000 seniors, an increase of approximately 1,900 participants compared to last year.






Incheon’s Jayu Park to Host Cherry Blossom Festival on April 5


The Incheon Jung-gu Cultural Foundation has announced that the much-anticipated Cherry Blossom Festival will be held at Jayu Park on April 5.

Jayu Park, renowned as a prime spot for viewing cherry blossoms, will serve as the backdrop for a variety of performances, including classical music concerts and magic shows. In addition, a special celebratory concert featuring popular artists such as Gummy, Park Myung-soo, and Kyungseo will take place at 7:00 PM on the day of the festival.

Officials from the Jung-gu Office have assured that comprehensive preparations are underway to ensure the safety and enjoyment of visitors. They also invited residents and tourists alike to enjoy the festivities and create lasting memories in the beautiful park setting.
