Incheon to Host World’s Largest Semiconductor Conference ‘ISCAS 2029’
The City of Incheon announced that on June 10, it was officially selected as the final host city of the “2029 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS 2029)” by the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society.
ISCAS 2029 is the world’s largest academic conference in the semiconductor field. It is a globally recognized event in the areas of circuits, systems, artificial intelligence, and semiconductors. Around 1,500 experts from around the world are expected to attend, making it a great opportunity for active exchange between academia and industry both in Korea and abroad.
An official from the city said, “We will do our best to make this event a successful platform for global exchange between academia, industry, and research.”
Incheon Civic Groups Promote Local Product Consumption
To boost the local economy by increasing purchases of local products, major economic organizations in Incheon have joined forces.
On the 16th, the Incheon Vision Enterprises Association and the Incheon Agricultural Convergence Industry Certification Business Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to work together in promoting the purchase of local products and supporting mutual growth.
Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to actively purchase local goods and continue to develop various projects that support mutual cooperation and regional economic growth.
2025 Classic Series II: Piano Duo ShinPark Recital
On July 1, the second performance of the 2025 Classic Series, Piano Duo ShinPark Recital, will take place.
The piano duo “ShinPark” (Shin Mi-jung and Park Sang-wook), recognized not only in Korea but also on the international stage, is known for their precise ensemble and deep musical interpretation.
They won second prize in the piano duo category at the ARD International Music Competition in Munich, Germany, and received unanimous first place and the Special Prize for Best Schubert Interpretation at the Schubert International Competition in the Czech Republic—achievements that earned them high praise from the local media.
For this performance, Piano Duo ShinPark will present works that capture the essence of French Impressionism and Romanticism.

Incheon Talent Development Institute Holds Send-off Ceremony for ‘2025 Youth Overseas Backpacking Program’
The Incheon Talent Development Institute held a send-off ceremony for the ‘2025 Incheon Youth Overseas Backpacking Program’ on the 16th at the institute’s learning room.
The program is designed to help young people in Incheon gain global insight and learn how to contribute to their communities. It is part of a youth development project that started last year and is now in its second year.
The selected teams will each receive up to 10 million for their travel. From June to September, they will visit various countries and institutions based on their own chosen research themes.
IFEZ Startups Showcase Innovation at VivaTech 2025 in Paris
Five startups based in Incheon participated in Viva Technology 2025, held in Paris from June 11 to 14, establishing a foothold for entering the European market.
Representing Incheon at the Startup Korea Pavilion operated by the Korea Startup Promotion Agency, each company presented unique and innovative solutions in line with the event’s theme, “The New Frontiers of Innovation.”
During the exhibition, the Incheon Startup Park booth attracted over 1,000 global buyers and visitors, with more than 350 business meetings conducted over the four days.
Incheon Office of Education Opens Temporary Service Desk for GED Applicants
The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education has temporarily opened an on-site service desk until June 20 to assist with applications for the elementary, middle, and high school General Equivalency Diploma (GED) exams.
Previously, applicants had to wait long periods and move between various departments due to the sequential processing of handwritten requests.
The new desk, located at the GED application center, now enables instant issuance of pass and score certificates through an electronic system, significantly reducing wait times and improving accessibility for the transportation-vulnerable.
Incheon Considers Increasing e-Eum Cashback Rate
The City of Incheon is considering raising the cashback rate for its local digital gift certificate program, Incheon e-Eum.
Currently, users receive 10% cashback at affiliated stores with annual sales under 300 million, and 5% at those with sales between 300 million and 3 billion.
The city is reviewing the possibility of increasing the cashback rate for consumers using the platform at businesses in the 300 million to 3 billion range.
