Incheon Holds Children’s Rights Education Program for Multicultural Families
Incheon Metropolitan City held the “2025 Outreach Children’s Rights Education Program for Multicultural Families” yesterday at Hambak Community Welfare Center, with around 40 children and parents participating.
The program was newly introduced to help children from multicultural families recognize when their rights may be at risk due to language or cultural barriers and to better understand the rights guaranteed to them in Korea. It also aims to strengthen their sense of belonging and integration within the community.
The city said it will continue supporting children through multilingual assistance, tailored educational content, and parent engagement programs. It added that these efforts are intended to create an environment where every child is respected and can grow safely.
Incheon Continues ‘Eolssu’ Traditional Performances in September
Incheon Metropolitan City will continue its “Eolssu Traditional Performances 2025” this fall to make traditional culture more accessible in citizens’ daily lives.
The program will feature four performances, held every Sunday in September.
It will include a diverse lineup of traditional performances such as gugak, pansori, and intangible heritage showcases, carrying on the excitement from the first half of the year.
All performances are free and open to the public.
Incheon International Choir Festival Opens to Commemorate the 75th Year of the Battle of Incheon
The 11th Incheon International Choir Festival, which has grown from a local event into a global choral celebration, will open to commemorate the 75th year of the Battle of Incheon.
First launched in 2012 as the “Our Neighborhood Choir Festival” and later expanded into the “Incheon Choir Festival,” the event has steadily grown in scale and influence, broadening the reach of choral culture each year.
This year’s festival will be held from September 16 to 19 at the Art Center Incheon Concert Hall, featuring a record 34 choirs and more than 2,000 participants.
Incheon to Host “Love for Children Festival: Mission Impossible”
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that the “Love for Children Festival: Mission Impossible 2025” will be held on September 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Eoulkeun Madang in Incheon Grand Park.
The event is organized by the Incheon Dad Parenting Angels and jointly operated with the Incheon branch of the Planned Population Federation of Korea.
It is designed to share the joys of parenting and reaffirm the importance of family.
Participation is open to families in Incheon with children aged 0 to 10, from members of the Dad Parenting Angels to local residents alike.
Seo-gu to Host ‘Great Journey’ Event for Youth Day
Seo-gu in Incheon City will hold the ‘Seo-gu Great Journey’ on September 20 to celebrate Youth Day together with local young people.
The journey will cover a 17-kilometer course, starting from the district office, passing through Cheongna Lake Park and Hana Financial Group, and concluding at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium, where the Youth Day ceremony will take place.
The district is currently accepting applications from 30 youth participants on a first-come, first-served basis until September 17.
Incheon’s Namdong-gu Opens Safe School Route Using School Grounds
Namdong-gu in Incheon has created a safe school route, marking the first time the district has utilized school grounds for this purpose.
To improve student safety on the way to and from school, Namdong-gu removed the fence of Yaksan Elementary School in Ganseok 3-dong and built a 1.5-meter-wide, 100-meter-long safe passage.
The school, which has 587 students, had long faced safety and accessibility concerns due to narrow roads, illegal parking, and other obstacles. Construction began in August and the new route is now open for student use.
Namdong-gu Hosts Dementia Awareness Event Through Smart App
Namdong-gu in Incheon will hold a special event for participants of its ‘Smart App Dementia Prevention Class,’ run via the mobile healthcare platform Maelly, in celebration of Dementia Awareness Day in September.
The event runs from September 8 to 19. Fifty participants who complete all of the app’s ‘Today’s Activities’ will be selected by lottery to receive prizes.
The initiative encourages continued engagement with the dementia prevention program and aims to promote a positive awareness of dementia.
