Incheon will establish an eco-tourism center in Yeongjong
Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced plans to invest 3.5 billion won to build eco-tourism facilities at Yeongjong Seaside Park in Jung-gu, Incheon.
The project includes an eco-tourism center, an outdoor experiential learning site, and eco-trails near the.

Incheon Museum of History opens special exhibition on Marguerite Higgins marking the 75th anniversary of the Incheon Landing Operation
The Incheon Museum of History has opened a special exhibition titled “A Fiery Life: Marguerite Higgins in Incheon, September 1950” to mark the 75th anniversary of the Incheon Landing Operation. The exhibition runs from September 12 to October 19.
Higgins, a war correspondent for the New York Herald Tribune, landed with U.S. Marines under heavy fire at Incheon’s Manseok-dong coast and became the first woman to win a Pulitzer Prize for international reporting.
She was the first foreign correspondent to arrive in Korea just two days after the outbreak of the Korean War and was the only female foreign war reporter present at the Incheon Landing on September 15, 1950.
This is the first museum exhibition in Korea dedicated to highlighting her life and work.
Incheon will stage free musical to mark 75th anniversary of Incheon Landing Operation
Incheon Metropolitan City announced it will present five free performances of the original musical “Incheon Landing Operation: That Night, A Light” from September 12 to 20 at Bupyeong Art Center and Jung-gu Cultural Center.
Produced by the theater group Ten Years Later with city support, the musical is the first original work under Incheon’s program to promote creative stage productions.
As part of the anniversary week, it highlights themes of remembrance and gratitude, unity and peace, solidarity and future, and participation and empathy.
The story draws inspiration from the lighthouse at Palmido, a symbol of the operation’s success, and sheds light on the sacrifices of unsung heroes and civilians during the war.
Incheon will host the 41st Shinhan Donghae Open golf tournament
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that the 41st Shinhan Donghae Open golf tournament will take place from September 11 to 14 at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea in Songdo.
The tournament is hosted by Shinhan Financial Group and co-organized by the Korea Professional Golf Tour (KPGA), the Asian Tour, and the Japan Golf Tour Organization (JGTO).
Spectators can enjoy interactive programs such as putting challenges and shooting games, along with a variety of food and entertainment options throughout the event.
Michuhol-gu holds youth welfare committee meeting
Michuhol-gu announced that it convened the second-half Youth Welfare Review Committee on September 4 to discuss ways to better support at-risk youth and strengthen rapid response systems.
The meeting gathered heads of 15 key partner institutions, who pledged to work together for youth protection and welfare.
Discussions included expanding special aid for vulnerable youth, as well as building an inter-agency system for swift information sharing and emergency intervention in cases of runaway, abuse, domestic violence, or suicide risk.
Jung-gu adds public buses and revamp routes for greater convenience
Jung-gu announced that it will implement a public bus route adjustment starting September 13 to improve transit convenience for residents of Yeongjong International City.
The changes come as Yeongjong-gu is set to launch in about 300 days, reflecting residents’ feedback and the area’s evolving living and transport needs.
Key changes include expanded operations for Route 5 through Unseo Middle School and Donggang-ri, a new Route 8-1 linking Yongyu and Sky City, a new Route 10 serving Yeongjong Station commuters, and extensions of Route 9 to Yedanpo and Jangchon.
Yeonsu-gu was recognized as outstanding institution for gender equality policy
Incheon’s Yeonsu-gu announced that it received an award for outstanding gender equality policies at the “2025 Incheon Gender Equality Week Ceremony” held at the Incheon Culture and Arts Center.
Each year, the city evaluates all 10 districts to select top performers, and Yeonsu-gu was recognized for ranking first in administrative results last year in the category of “Building Gender Equality and Women’s Safety.”
The district’s initiatives—such as the Women Safety Dream project, the creation of safe return paths under its Women-Friendly City program, and violence prevention education—were praised as effective, community-based policies.
