Incheon City Holds “Next Generation Global Startup and Trade School” Homeland Visit Program


Incheon City will hold the “2025 23rd Next Generation Global Startup and Trade School Homeland Visit Program” at Ramada Songdo Hotel for six days from October 19 to 24.

The program invites next-generation overseas Koreans from various countries to Korea to foster global economic leaders and strengthen Korean identity.

A total of 78 next generation overseas Korean entrepreneurs from 23 countries will take part in this training.

 





Art Center Incheon Phase 2 Project Gets Green Light


The second-phase project of Art Center Incheon, a large performance venue, will begin in earnest to add an opera house and art hub space.

Incheon Free Economic Zone announced that the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s central investment review has conditionally approved the project.

The conditions include reviewing the safety of existing facilities and developing differentiated content compared to similar venues before proceeding to the second review after detailed design.

The core of the phase two project is to build a 1,439 seat opera house and an Art & Tech Center as a new art hub.





 

Incheon City to Establish “Loneliness Bureau”


Incheon City will create a new department called the “Loneliness Bureau” to address new social issues such as the increasing number of single-person households and social isolation.

According to the city, the draft ordinance to establish the “Loneliness Bureau” has been announced for legislation.

Since last month, the city has operated a temporary “Loneliness Task Force” to promote single-person household policies, and now it will expand this to a permanent bureau-level organization.

The city explained that it is reorganizing to promote policies for single-person households and respond to emerging social problems such as isolation, reclusion, and lonely deaths.





 

Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education Runs Photo Therapy Group Counseling “Click, Embrace the Mind”


The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it has been running a photo therapy group counseling program, “Click, Embrace the Mind,” for middle and high school students from September to November.

Under the slogan “Together with, From Bystander to Defender!”, the program is part of school violence prevention activities, designed to strengthen students’ social and emotional abilities and support psychological growth.

The Wee Center of the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education expanded the program to include middle school students in the second half of the year so more students can express their emotions and experience healing through photography.

The Incheon Fisheries Technology Support Center announced it will operate the “7th Incheon Return to Fishing School Program” for five weeks from October 20 to November 21.

A total of 22 selected trainees will participate in the final session of the year to systematically learn theory and practice necessary for returning to fishing.

After completing registration and the entrance ceremony, the trainees officially began their education, which focuses on practical content helpful for those hoping to return to the fishing industry.





 

Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education Shintree Library Hosts “Handpan + Meditation” Night Performance for October Culture Month


In celebration of October Culture Month, the Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education Shintree Library announced that it will hold a “Handpan + Meditation Performance for Relaxation” on October 31 (Friday) from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Springnuri Hall on the first floor of the new building.

The night performance is a healing program where participants listen to handpan music in a comfortable position and meditate, led by a professional instructor from Chomin Gamja Brain Healing Center.

Applications can be made from October 20 through the Shintree Library website, and inquiries can be directed to the Village Education Support Division.




 

Ongjin-gun Provides Scholarships for Children from Low-Income Families


Ongjin-gun, Incheon City, announced that it will accept applications for the “2025 Second Half Scholarship for Children from Low-Income Families” from today until the 27th.

The scholarship is provided under the “Ongjin-gun Social Welfare Fund Establishment and Operation Ordinance” to reduce the financial burden of education and support students with necessary academic expenses such as textbooks.

Eligible applicants are middle and high school students who are children of low-income residents registered in Ongjin-gun and rank within the top 50 percent of their class. Middle school students receive 500,000 won per semester, and high school students receive 1 million won.
