Incheon Free Economic Zone to Hold 2025 IFEZ Landscape Academy on November 26
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that the 2025 IFEZ Landscape Academy will be held on November 26 at the Incheon Urban History Museum under the theme “See the City, Feel the Memory.”
The academy will feature a variety of programs including the 2025 Landscape Awards ceremony, lectures on urban landscapes, and a landscape concert. Citizens, experts, and public officials will come together to communicate and discuss the future of urban landscapes in the IFEZ.
The event will also be available for viewing on the IFEZ’s YouTube channel from 2 PM on December 11.
Incheon Metropolitan City Raises Year-End E-eum Card Cashback Limit from 300,000 to 500,000 won
In celebration of the year-end season, Incheon Metropolitan City will increase the cashback limit for the local currency, Incheon E-eum Gift Certificates.
Starting in December, the monthly cashback limit will be raised from 300,000 won to 500,000 won.
The cashback rates remain unchanged: 10% for general stores with annual sales under 3 billion won, and 15% for stores in the population-decreasing areas of Ganghwa-gun and Ongjin-gun.
This means customers can receive up to 50,000 won cashback at general stores, and up to 75,000 won at participating stores in Ganghwa and Ongjin.
2025 Incheon Kimjang Sharing Festival Prepares Over 20,000 kg of Kimchi
Incheon Metropolitan City Social Welfare Council held the “2025 Incheon Kimjang Sharing Festival” on November 22 at the Ae-ddeul plaza in front of City Hall.
Now in its 12th year since 2014, the festival involved around 260 volunteers.
On the day, a total of 20,503 kg of kimchi, either made on-site or donated, will be distributed to low-income households and welfare facilities through social welfare councils and food banks across districts and counties.
Incheon Metropolitan Council Pioneers Self-Sufficient Era with Smart Urban Agriculture
The Incheon Metropolitan Council is presenting a new paradigm for urban agriculture by developing a decentralized agriculture model aimed at local self-sufficiency.
The Incheon Smart Urban Agriculture Research Group recently held a final report meeting on policy research at the Seminar Room of the Industry and Economy Committee.
This session provided an opportunity to outline new directions for urban agriculture in Incheon and identify concrete measures to promote local self-sufficiency.
Incheon Metropolitan Council Reduces Education Budget by 45.6 Billion won
The Incheon Metropolitan Council’s Education Committee has approved a reduction of 45.6 billion won from the initially proposed 5.5143 trillion won, bringing the revised budget to 5.4687 trillion won, through its review of the second supplementary budget for 2025.
The adjustment reflects cuts to the general education grant from the Ministry of Education, with early childhood, elementary, and secondary education most affected.
The early childhood, elementary, and secondary education sectors account for 85.1% of the total reduction, while the budget for improving school facilities decreased by 49.9 billion won, representing 109.4% of the total reduction.
Namdong-gu Urban Management Corporation Donates Blood Donation Certificates for Pediatric Cancer Patients
The Namdong-gu Urban Management Corporation donated 52 blood donation certificates collected voluntarily by employees to the Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation to help alleviate the blood transfusion costs for pediatric cancer patients.
This donation is part of the corporation’s annual employee blood donation campaign, aimed at reducing the financial burden on families of children who require blood treatments.
During this year’s campaigns, a total of 49 participants—including 8 local residents—took part in the blood donation activities.
