2nd i+ Design Seminar to Be Held
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will hold the “2nd i+ (i-plus) Design Seminar: Youth Designing Incheon” on November 27 at 1 p.m. at the small auditorium of Inha University.
The i-plus Design Seminar was created to open a space for innovation and communication so that Incheon City can hear citizens’ voices and reflect them in policy.
This year’s seminar will bring together academic experts, young entrepreneurs, university students, and city officials to discuss ways to help young people settle in Incheon and achieve sustainable growth.
Incheon Opens Global Semiconductor Cooperation Platform
Incheon City announced that on November 25 it held the “Incheon Semiconductor Global Workshop” at Oakwood Premier Hotel in Songdo, bringing together world-renowned semiconductor scholars and industry leaders.
The workshop was co-hosted by Incheon City and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and jointly organized by Inha University and the Incheon Semiconductor Forum. About 130 participants from semiconductor companies and related institutions attended to share the latest global semiconductor trends and expand networks with overseas companies and universities.
An Incheon City official stated, “Incheon will continue to implement various policies as a leading city in the semiconductor industry.”
Incheon Holds Healing Workshop for Dementia Care Workers
Incheon Metropolitan City, together with the Incheon Metropolitan Dementia Center, held the “2025 Incheon Dementia Care Project Healing Workshop” yesterday (24th).
The workshop was prepared to encourage and recognize the dedicated efforts of workers in the dementia care field throughout the year, providing a moment to share valuable experiences and recharge for their work.
During the event, awards and commendations were given to outstanding institutions and workers who contributed to the development of dementia care programs.
Incheon Selected as “Outstanding Agency” for Wildfire Prevention and Response
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it has been selected as an “Outstanding Agency” for wildfire prevention and response in 2025 by the Korea Forest Service.
The evaluation targeted all 17 metropolitan governments and assessed seven indicators including wildfire prevention, public awareness efforts, and preparedness and response. Incheon received high marks particularly for its mobile crackdowns on illegal burning, budget execution rate, and wildfire education performance.
During the wildfire season, the city operated the Wildfire Prevention Headquarters and, considering unfavorable weather conditions compared to previous years, launched the autumn wildfire response system 12 days earlier than usual, on October 20.
Incheon City Urges Citizens to Use “Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupons” by November 30
Incheon Metropolitan City reminded citizens to use their “Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupons” by the upcoming deadline of November 30.
Usage rates among online applicants reached 99.3% for the first round and 95.9% for the second round, meaning most citizens have already used their coupons, though some unused balances still remain.
Any unused balance after the deadline will automatically be returned to the national treasury. The city plans to work with districts and local offices to encourage last-minute usage.
Incheon Port Authority Expands EV Charging Stations at Incheon Port
Incheon Port Authority (IPA) announced that it will install 39 additional electric vehicle charging stations in parking lots within Incheon Port.
The charging stations will be installed across seven locations, including the Incheon Port International Passenger Terminal, North Port Hinterland, and the North Port Multipurpose Pier.
IPA is carrying out the project using funding from a Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries public competition program and its own budget, focusing on terminal areas with high vehicle usage.
Ganghwa Tidal Flat Center to Regain Eco-Tourism Appeal Through Remodeling
A full-scale revitalization project is beginning for the Ganghwa Tidal Flat Center, which had become underutilized due to aging facilities and declining visitor numbers.
Ganghwa-gun announced that it will remodel the center in Yeochari, Hwado-myeon by December 2027 with a total investment of 3.3 billion.
Additionally, Ganghwa-gun will improve the landscape of the building entrance and coastal trail, and introduce new tidal flat observation and experience programs.
