IFEZ Selects K-Bio Lab Hub as Winner of Its “Landscape Award”

Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZ) announced that it has finalized two works as winners of this year’s “Landscape Award” Excellence Prize.

The selected “K-Bio Lab Hub” in Songdo International City was praised for its well-balanced architectural proportions, harmonious integration with the surrounding environment, and for its detailed stone-finish design.

Since 2023, IFEZ has been selecting outstanding designs from architectural plans submitted to the Landscape Committee and awarding them through the Landscape Award.

Art Center Incheon to Open December One-Day Classes

Art Center Incheon will hold six sessions of the “Art Center Incheon Academy – One-Day Class” from December 6 to 20.

The classes are designed to offer opportunities to experience art and culture while enjoying the year-end atmosphere.

A variety of programs will be available for participants from children to adults, giving them the chance to create works of their own and make special year-end memories.

Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it conducted the “2025 Civil Complaint Response Competency Training” to promote citizen-centered administrative services.

The program aims to improve public officials’ kindness and service quality while also protecting them from verbal abuse, physical assault, and other unlawful acts that may occur in complaint-handling situations, thereby creating a safer working environment.

Incheon City Obtains ISO45001 Certification for Serious Civil Accident Safety and Health Management

Incheon City has obtained the ISO45001 certification for safety and health management in the area of serious civil accidents.

ISO45001 is an international standard established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which evaluates whether an organization has established systems necessary for creating a safe and healthy work environment and preventing industrial accidents and illnesses.

During the assessment, the city was evaluated on the establishment of its safety and health management system for serious civil accidents, management of hazardous and risk factors, on-site inspection systems, and compliance with relevant laws.

Incheon City Further Relaxes Restrictions Around Designated Heritage Sites—Releases 13㎢ of Protected Area

Incheon City’s designated heritage protection zones—covering tangible cultural properties, monuments, and other heritage sites—have been further reduced following last year’s adjustments, allowing residents greater freedom in exercising property rights.

The city announced on the 24th that it had issued the revised standards for allowable construction activities and adjustments to protection areas within the historical and cultural environment of city-designated heritage sites.

Under the new adjustments, the protection area of 29 out of 34 designated heritage sites has been reduced, releasing a total of 13㎢.

The city prepared the new adjustments through a research study conducted since November last year, and finalized them after deliberation and approval by the City Cultural Heritage Committee in September.

Incheon City Urges Citizens to Use “Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupons” by November 30

Incheon Metropolitan City reminded citizens to use their “Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupons” by the upcoming deadline of November 30.

Usage rates among online applicants reached 99.3% for the first round and 95.9% for the second round, meaning most citizens have already used their coupons, though some unused balances still remain.

Any unused balance after the deadline will automatically be returned to the national treasury. The city plans to work with districts and local offices to encourage last-minute usage.

Incheon Port Authority Expands EV Charging Stations at Incheon Port

Incheon Port Authority (IPA) announced that it will install 39 additional electric vehicle charging stations in parking lots within Incheon Port.

The charging stations will be installed across seven locations, including the Incheon Port International Passenger Terminal, North Port Hinterland, and the North Port Multipurpose Pier.

IPA is carrying out the project using funding from a Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries public competition program and its own budget, focusing on terminal areas with high vehicle usage.

Ganghwa Tidal Flat Center to Regain Eco-Tourism Appeal Through Remodeling

A full-scale revitalization project is beginning for the Ganghwa Tidal Flat Center, which had become underutilized due to aging facilities and declining visitor numbers.

Ganghwa-gun announced that it will remodel the center in Yeochari, Hwado-myeon by December 2027 with a total investment of 3.3 billion.

Additionally, Ganghwa-gun will improve the landscape of the building entrance and coastal trail, and introduce new tidal flat observation and experience programs.
