Incheon’s “1,000-Won Housing” Selected as the Most Favored Policy for Nationwide Expansion
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that its “1,000-Won Housing” initiative was selected as the top-ranked policy that people would like to see expanded nationwide at the 2025 Korea Local Era Expo.
The city joined the expo held recently at the Ulsan Exhibition & Convention Center, where it introduced various “1,000-won series” policies aimed at reducing household living costs and conducted an on-site public vote.
Among the 4,458 visitors who took part, 39% selected the 1,000-Won Housing initiative as the policy most in need of nationwide expansion.

This event was organized to celebrate the successful completion of the internship program under the 2025 Incheon Youth Leap Project and aimed to foster networking and peer connections among participating youth as they prepare for their future careers.
The Incheon Youth Leap Project is one of the city’s flagship youth work-experience programs, which provides job-seeking youth with practical training and internship opportunities to gain on-site experience, while connecting local companies with highly capable young talent.
Incheon Hosts “Mind Reset Workshop” to Support Mental Health Practitioners and Prevent Burnout
Incheon city organized a communication and relaxation program to help prevent burnout and promote psychological recovery among frontline mental health practitioners.
More than 200 workers from 32 institutions participated, including the city and district health centers, metropolitan and basic mental health welfare centers, suicide prevention centers, addiction management centers, and psychiatric rehabilitation facilities.
The workshop placed a particular focus on fostering the emotional recovery of practitioners while expanding existing support systems.

Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it held the 2025 Talk & Movie Day for Youth Preparing for Independent Living on the 29th to support young people transitioning to independent living and help them grow stably within the local community.

Incheon Port Introduces Integrated Control System to Strengthen Safety at Small-Vessel Berthing Facilities
The Incheon Port Authority announced that it has adopted a new Integrated Control System to enhance the management of small-vessel berthing facilities at Incheon Port.
The system has been installed at the Comprehensive Control Center at the Yeokmuseon Pier and will begin full operation in January after stabilization testing.
The authority expects the system to allow real-time monitoring of small-vessel berthing facilities, enabling rapid initial response in case of safety incidents and eliminating management blind spots.
Namdong-gu Designated a Women-Friendly City for the Second Consecutive Cycle
Namdong-gu announced that it has been selected by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family as a 2025 Women-Friendly City.
Namdong-gu signed a renewal agreement with the ministry and will maintain its women-friendly status for the next five years, through 2030.
Starting next year, Namdong-gu plans to strengthen accountability by actively promoting gender mainstreaming policies, implementing five key goals and related initiatives, and expanding women-friendly programs tailored to the district’s characteristics.
