Incheon Set to Generate Electricity Off Its Coast amid Offshore Wind Farm Boom
Public-sector entities and private companies are moving rapidly to develop offshore wind farms in the waters off Incheon.
According to the city, four private companies have already obtained power generation licenses and are currently pursuing offshore wind farm projects, while a public-led initiative spearheaded by Incheon City and Ongjin-gun is also gaining momentum.
A city official said, “By establishing large-scale offshore wind power complexes, we expect to advance carbon-neutrality efforts and stimulate related industries in the region,” adding that the city will continue communication efforts to minimize impacts on the fishing industry and develop measures that promote coexistence with local residents.

Incheon Metropolitan City Museum Opens Applications for First-Half 2026 Rentals of the “Open Museum” at Incheon City Hall Station
The Incheon Metropolitan City Museum announced that it will accept applications from December 1 to 14 for first-half 2026 rentals of the “Open Museum,” an exhibition space located inside Incheon City Hall Station on Incheon Subway Line 1.
The Open Museum was established between Exits 1 and 9 and the ticket gate area under a mutual development agreement between the Metropolitan City Museum and the Incheon Transit Corporation, creating an accessible cultural venue within a public transit space.
Applications are open to any Incheon citizen or Incheon-based organization, and rental fees are free of charge.
Incheon Waterworks Headquarters Launches Winter Water Supply Measures to Prevent Freeze and Leakage Damage
The Incheon Waterworks Headquarters announced that it will implement winter water supply measures through March 15 next year to prevent leaks and pipe freezing caused by severe cold weather, ensuring 24-hour stable water service for residents.
The plan focuses on minimizing infrastructure damage during cold waves and maintaining uninterrupted water supply throughout the winter season.
To enable rapid on-site response in the event of leaks, the Waterworks Headquarters has organized emergency repair teams and will maintain a 24-hour response system to handle water pipe freezing or burst incidents.
Namdong Cultural Foundation Holds “Art Hall Plogging Day” as Part of Its Environmental Campaign
The Namdong Cultural Foundation in Incheon announced its ESG management slogan “My Green Namdong” and plans to carry out three campaigns by the end of the year: a resource-circulation campaign, an environmental cleanup campaign, and a joint campaign.
As part of the recent “My Green Namdong” cleanup campaign, more than 20 foundation employees took part in “Art Hall Plogging Day,” cleaning the area around the Namdong Sorae Arts Hall (Haeroum Lake Park).
The foundation is also collecting plastic bottle caps at local festivals and events, which will be donated to the Upcycle Eco Center for reuse-education programs.
