Incheon Metropolitan City will pay February livelihood benefits early ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday. The benefits will be paid ahead of the holidays on February 13, as the move reflects increased household spending during the holiday season and aims to stabilize the lives of basic livelihood security recipients. The government previously announced the measure at an Economic Ministers’ Meeting chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economy on January 28, as part of efforts to ease the public’s financial burden during the Lunar New Year. Accordingly, Incheon will provide early payments to 129,000 livelihood benefit recipients whose income falls within 32 percent of the median income.

Incheon Selected As Excellent Institution In Lottery Fund Green Project Evaluation


Incheon Metropolitan City has been selected as an excellent metropolitan government in the 2025 Lottery Fund supported project evaluation. The evaluation focused on the Green Infrastructure Expansion Project for vulnerable areas. The Lottery Fund supported program is run annually by the Korea Forest Welfare Institute through public competitions to enhance well-being for underserved groups through forest-related projects such as accessible forests,  walking paths, and urban forests. Incheon received the excellence award among metropolitan governments, while Namdong-gu won the top prize in the Barrier-free Walking Path category.





Sam-san Wholesale Market Implements Holiday Stabilization Measures


The Sam-san Agricultural Product Wholesale Market Management Office will implement special Lunar New Year supply stabilization measures through February 16. The measures aim to ease household food price burdens and ensure smooth distribution of agricultural products ahead of the holiday. The plan was prepared to support both consumers and farmers amid prolonged high inflation and weakened consumption. Under the measures, a total of 2,055 tons of key holiday produce, including apples and pears, will be supplied through the market.





Incheon City Dance Company Seeks New Talent To Lead Creation And Performance


The Incheon Culture & Arts Center will publicly recruit new members for the Incheon City Dance Company. The company is recognized for its high-quality productions and wide-ranging activities that have expanded the horizons of Korean dance. The recruitment will select one resident assistant choreographer and one performing member. Applicants for the assistant choreographer position must submit a 10-minute video of choreography work created within the past five years. The second round will include a presentation of a job performance plan and an in-person interview. Applications will be accepted from February 10 through 6 p.m. on February 12.  The assistant choreographer position accepts applications by email, while the performing member position requires registered mail submission.





Incheon To Raise Monthly Honorary Allowance For Veterans 70 & Older


Incheon Metropolitan City is moving forward with a plan to increase monthly honor allowances for elderly war veterans. The Administrative and Safety Committee of the Incheon City Council approved a revised ordinance on the treatment and support of war veterans. The revision raises the monthly allowance for veterans aged 70 or older from 100,000 won to 150,000 won. If the ordinance passes the city council’s plenary session on the 12th, the city plans to implement the increase within this year.
