Incheon Metropolitan City will invest a total of 364.6 billion won in support programs for single-person households. By sector, the budget includes 304 billion won for housing stability, 43.4 billion won for economic activity support, 10.4 billion won for health promotion and care, 5.9 billion won for creating a safer living environment, and 700 million won to strengthen social networks. As of 2024, Incheon has a total of 412,000 single-person households, accounting for 32.5 percent of its 1.267 million households.

‘MSC Bellissima’ Calls At Incheon Port
The MSC Bellissima, operated by MSC Cruises, has successfully docked at Incheon Port. It is the largest cruise ship ever to enter the Incheon Cruise Terminal. According to the Incheon Port Authority, the vessel arrived at around 5:30 a.m. on February 6th carrying approximately 3,300 passengers and 1,600 crew members. Given the record-breaking scale of the arrival, the authority coordinated closely in advance with customs, immigration, quarantine, and other related agencies to complete procedures smoothly without disruption.

Incheon Metropolitan City and district governments will once again concentrate administrative efforts this year to prevent casualties from crowd-related safety accidents. Last year, the city applied a four-stage crowd safety management system to all festivals and events expected to draw large crowds, achieving zero casualties. The four-stage system consists of risk assessments and designation of intensive management targets; advance reviews and safety staffing plans; joint pre-inspections with police and fire authorities; and real-time monitoring with emergency communication systems.

Incheon Metropolitan City will implement comprehensive waste-management measures during the Lunar New Year holidays, including special household waste collection.The city plans to separately designate schedules for transporting household waste from districts to metropolitan waste treatment facilities to prevent waste accumulation during the holiday period. Namdong-gu Recruiting Participants For 2026 Youth Challenge Support Program
Incheon’s Namdong-gu is recruiting participants for the 2026 Youth Challenge Support Program through March 25. The program provides customized support to young people who have been job searching for a prolonged time, helping to boost their motivation and economic activity while facilitating their re-entry into the labor market. Participants who complete the program will receive an allowance of 500,000 won per five-week period, with additional incentives provided to participants who complete the program.
Seo-gu To Provide Customized Job Counseling for Jobseekers
Incheon’s Seo-gu has operated a “Mobile Job Counseling Center” to promote the district’s employment support programs and provide job matching consultations. During the event, the district’s Job Support Center offered personalized one-on-one counseling by professional career consultants to middle-aged job seekers and women with prior work experience who face difficulties in employment. Seo-gu plans to operate the mobile counseling service 16 times this year, holding two sessions each at eight neighborhood administrative welfare centers from February through November, excluding the peak summer heat period.
