Gyeyang Park Office’s Gardening Program Draws Positive Response

The Gyeyang Park Office of Incheon Metropolitan City says citizens have been giving positive reviews for its 2026 Gardening Program.

The program is designed to promote emotional stability and bring vitality to everyday life through a variety of gardening activities using plants.

The program is open to all citizens and focuses on practical gardening education and hands-on activities. It is being held at the Yeonhui Park Forest Healing Center from August 11 through November 5.

Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and cover practical topics such as plant care, various gardening activities and creative projects using plants.

2026 Incheon Youth Week to be Held from Sept. 16 to 20

Incheon Metropolitan City will hold “2026 Incheon Youth Week” from September 16 to 20, offering a five-day festival for young people and citizens under the theme, “Dominate, Incheon! Take Flight, Youth!”

Youth Day is legally observed on the third Saturday of September every year under Korea’s Framework Act on Youth, while Youth Week runs for one week from Youth Day.

The city will present a variety of events and festivals throughout the week, centered around the seventh Incheon Youth Day ceremony, which will be held at Wave Hall in Sangsang Platform on September 19.

Incheon City to Launch “Haengbok Culture Ticket” in October

Incheon Metropolitan City will revamp its existing “1,000-won Culture Ticket” program as the “Incheon Haengbok Culture Ticket,” to give all citizens greater access to a variety of cultural experiences.

The Haengbok Culture Tickets will be launched in October and will be distributed to around 6,000 citizens that month to mark Citizens’ Day and add special meaning to October as Culture Month.

Details on booking schedules and how to use the Haengbok Culture Ticket will be available in the news section of the Incheon Metropolitan City website and on the websites of participating cultural facilities.

Applications Open for 2026 Incheon Marine Protected Area Birdwatching Competition

A special event will be held at Songdo Tidal Flat, an important stopover for migratory birds traveling between East Asia and Oceania, where people from Korea and abroad can observe and appreciate migratory birds and their ecological value.

Incheon Metropolitan City said it will hold the “2026 Incheon Marine Protected Area Birdwatching Competition” to promote the ecological value of Incheon’s marine protected areas and raise awareness of their conservation. Applications will open on September 1.

The competition will take place on October 9 around G-Tower and the Songdo Tidal Flat Marine Protected Area in Songdo.

The event will center on the main competition, in which participants observe migratory birds in the Songdo Tidal Flat area and compete based on their birdwatching records. It will also feature a special lecture by a bird expert and commemorative activities.

Incheon to Hold Pre-Opening Project for Incheon Museum of Art with Citizens

Ahead of the scheduled opening of the Incheon Museum of Art in 2028, Incheon Metropolitan City will hold the “2026 Incheon Museum of Art Pre-Opening Project” throughout September, allowing citizens to experience the museum in advance and take part directly in its development.

This year’s pre-opening project is based on the direction of creating “an open museum together with citizens.”

The project will be held as a comprehensive cultural and arts event featuring a range of programs, including special lectures on art, a citizen-participation art festival, public art projects and a flea market.
