Incheon Expands Program to Provide Essential Goods to People in Need

Incheon Metropolitan City will expand its “Just Give” program across the city to provide essential goods to vulnerable residents.

The program is a welfare service that provides people struggling financially with items they need immediately, without complicated application or eligibility verification procedures.

The program was initially operated at seven locations across five counties and districts, including Ganghwa-gun, from May through August.

It is scheduled to expand this month to 14 locations across all 11 counties and districts.

Each location will operate the program three times a week on designated days, providing three to five types of essential goods worth up to 20,000 won per person.

Incheon Conducts Public Preference Survey on Incheon Museum Park’s Official Name

Incheon Metropolitan City will conduct a public preference survey to select the official name of a cultural complex tentatively named Incheon Museum Park, which is scheduled to open in 2028.

The complex will be a large cultural and arts space featuring a newly built art museum, the expanded and relocated Incheon City Museum, and an arts park.

A first round of brand perception research and an evaluation through focus group interviews with experts have already been conducted for the new name.

The focus group evaluation, involving experts in museum operations, visual design and branding, selected three finalists from eight candidates which are “Incheon Museum Park,” “Museum Port Incheon” and “Incheon Museum+.

” The city plans to hold a public hearing on October 30 to share the proposed names and direction for the brand design and gather final input from citizens.

Incheon Holds “Safety Golden Bell” for Foreign Workers

Incheon Metropolitan City has organized a communication and educational event to overcome language barriers, promote workplace safety and strengthen foreign workers’ ability to prevent accidents.

The event was held as part of the “Support Project to Eliminate Blind Spots in Local Severe Accident Prevention,” jointly promoted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and Incheon Metropolitan City.

It was designed to improve industrial accident prevention and safety awareness among foreign workers, who can be particularly vulnerable to safety blind spots because of language and cultural differences.

The quiz competition focused on industrial safety, everyday safety, fire prevention and emergency response measures that workers need to know both at work and in their daily lives.

Participants answered true-or-false questions by physically moving to the area representing their answers, as well as multiple-choice and short-answer questions.

Immediately after each question, organizers provided detailed explanations of relevant safety rules and accident response procedures, enhancing the practical educational value of the event.

Museum of Korean Immigration History to Offer Educational Program for Preschoolers

The Museum of Korea Emigration History will offer an educational program for young children titled “The Great Adventure on the Gaelic” from October 13 to December 10.

The program uses an adventure aboard the Gaelic, the first immigration ship to carry Koreans overseas, to teach children about the history of Korean immigration.

Taking on the role of expedition members aboard the Gaelic, children will learn about the lives and stories of Korean immigrants who traveled to Hawaii, Mexico and Germany and beyond.

The program will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings and is available for groups of preschool children.

Incheon City to Participate in the 'Quantum Expo Korea 2026,' Focusing Promotion on Quantum Infrastructure and Support Policies

Incheon Metropolitan City will take part in an event aimed at strengthening the city’s competitiveness in quantum technology, which is regarded as a key technology for future advanced industries.

Held for the first time this year, the expo is a specialized B2B business event bringing together key players from the domestic and international quantum industry, academia and research sectors.

It will also feature a range of related events, including the Global Quantum Summit 2026 and Quantum Tech IR Pitching Day.

During the expo, the city plans to provide tailored information to representatives of domestic and international research institutes and companies visiting its promotional pavilion, while actively seeking to attract quantum-related companies and expand business networking opportunities.
