Incheon Prepares Measures to Minimize Congestion at Incheon Family Park During Chuseok

Incheon Metropolitan City will implement comprehensive measures to ensure the safety of visitors to Incheon Family Park and minimize traffic congestion during the Chuseok holiday.

All facilities at the park will operate normally throughout the holiday period, while the opening hours of the memorial halls will be extended from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. from September 24 to 26.

However, on Chuseok Day, general vehicles other than funeral vehicles will be completely restricted from entering the park from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The city plans to operate 10 free shuttle buses circulating inside and outside the park that day to minimize inconvenience for visitors.

Incheon New Port Hinterland Tenant Contracts Finalized After Year-Long Delay

Tenant contracts for a hinterland site at Incheon New Port, where administrative procedures had been delayed for an extended period over allegations of illegal subleasing, have been finalized after more than a year.

The Incheon Port Authority (IPA) said it signed lease agreements last month with three companies that had been selected as preferred bidders for the temporary-use site at the Incheon New Port Phase 1-3 container terminal.

The final tenants are two used-car export companies and one company specializing in empty containers.

All three companies were originally expected to be used-car exporters, but one reportedly withdrew after an additional special provision was added to the contract.

The completion of the contracts brings the tenant selection process for the hinterland site to a close more than a year after the preferred bidders were selected in July last year.

Incheon Holds Lecture on Strengthening Public Emergency Response Skills for Children

Incheon Metropolitan City will hold a program on emergency response skills titled, “Emergency First-Aid Roadmap for Our Children,” at Yeongjong-gu Public Health Center on September 11.

The lecture aims to strengthen residents’ ability to respond to emergencies involving infants and children and promote appropriate use of emergency rooms.

The lecture and talk show will be led by a pediatrician from Inha University Hospital and is designed to improve understanding of emergency situations through communication between residents and emergency medical professionals.

It will also help address gaps in emergency medical education in the local community.

The program will cover topics such as when to take a child to the emergency room; first-aid training for infants and children based on symptoms and situations; a roadmap on how to protect a child’s life; and the proper use of emergency medical services.

Incheon to Hold 11th Munhaksan Music Concert

Incheon Metropolitan City will host a popular outdoor cultural event combining beautiful sunset views and a nightscape with high-quality classical music as autumn approaches.

The Munhaksan Music Concert is one of Incheon’s signature outdoor mountain concerts.

It has been held since 2016 to commemorate the full opening of the summit of Munhaksan following an agreement signed in 2015 between Incheon Metropolitan City and the Ministry of National Defense’s Air Force 3rd Missile Defense Brigade.

The concert is free and open to everyone.

For safety and smooth event operations, however, general visitors will have to walk to the summit. Vehicle access will be completely restricted except for transportation provided for people with mobility difficulties.

Incheon Special Judicial Police Launch Investigations in Five Key Areas Ahead of Chuseok

Incheon Metropolitan City’s Special Judicial Police will conduct targeted investigations in five areas closely related to residents’ daily lives for two months from September through October, ahead of the Chuseok holiday.

The investigations aim to prevent illegal activities that could threaten public safety and health.

They will focus on five areas where illegal activity is more likely to occur during the holiday and autumn season, including illegal coastal and offshore fishing; origin labeling and livestock distribution violations during Chuseok; illegal distribution of pharmaceuticals; illegal emissions of air pollutants from wood-processing facilities; and the sale of drugs harmful to juveniles at sports stadiums.
