Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority Promotes Gas Safety Ahead of Chuseok Holiday


The Incheon Free Economic Zone, in collaboration with related organizations, conducted a gas safety campaign from September 11th to 12th, ahead of the Chuseok holiday. 

The campaign was held at Unseo Station Square in Yeongjong International City and Technopark Station in Songdo International City, with around 50 employees participating. 

They distributed leaflets and promotional items containing gas safety information, including tips for long-term absences during the holiday, prohibition of the overuse of grill plates, and safe storage of butane cans. 

An official highlighted the importance of adhering to gas safety rules to prevent accidents.





Article 1. Major Architectural Event to be Held in Incheon Next Year


Incheon will host the 21st Asian Architects Conference from September 8 to 12 next year at Songdo Convensia and other venues. 

The event, organized by the Korea Institute of Registered Architects and the 21st Asian Architects Conference Organizing Committee, is expected to attract approximately 15,000 participants from 22 countries. 

Incheon city officials believe the conference will elevate the city’s brand and give vitality to the South Korea’s construction industry, contributing to the growth of K-architecture.





Fewer Passengers Expected on Incheon Coastal Ships This Chuseok


The Incheon Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries predicts a 17% drop in passengers using coastal ships between Incheon and nearby islands during the Chuseok holiday. 

Approximately 62,200 passengers are expected over the six-day period, compared to 74,745 last year. 

The office will operate a special transportation headquarters in cooperation with the Incheon Coast Guard, Ongjin Gun, and the Operation Management Center to ensure safety and efficiency, with frequent on-site inspections planned.






Incheon to Transform Former US Military Base into Citizen Rest Area


Incheon city officials have announced that the former Bupyeong US military base site will be gradually opened as a rest area for citizens. 

The B Zone sports field, part of the Camp Market area returned by the US military in 2019, was first opened to the public in May 2021 after soil remediation. 

On the 13th, an additional 5,200 square meters to the northwest of the sports field will be opened, with another 9,300 square meters to the north to be opened by the first half of next year. 

The site has been transformed into a nature-friendly rest area with walking paths, parks, and flower gardens.
