Incheon to Provide Early Vehicle Scrappage Subsidy—All Grade 5 Vehicles Eligible


Incheon City will accept applications for early scrappage subsidies for old diesel vehicles from March 4 to March 31.

This year, Incheon plans to allocate 21.7 billion KRW to support the early scrappage of approximately 6,135 outdated diesel vehicles and construction machinery.

Eligible vehicles include:

All Grade 5 emission vehicles (regardless of fuel type)

Grade 4 diesel vehicles

Road construction machinery (Category 3) manufactured before August 31, 2009

Forklifts and excavators manufactured before 2004

From this year, eligibility has expanded from only Grade 5 diesel vehicles to all Grade 5 vehicles, including gasoline and LPG models.




Incheon to Ease Parking Shortages in Older Downtown Areas


Incheon City aims to address parking shortages in older downtown areas by securing an additional 200,000 parking spaces by 2030.

While the city’s overall parking space availability reached 106% in 2023, the situation in older downtown areas remains poor.


Excluding apartment parking lots, the parking rate in these areas is only 43%, leading to persistent complaints and contributing to population decline.






Incheon to Cover Kindergarten Fees for Foreign Children Aged 3-5


Starting this year, foreign children attending kindergartens in Incheon will receive financial support for tuition.

The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it will provide subsidies to 3- to 5-year-old children enrolled in public and private kindergartens in the city.

Since 2022, the program has covered tuition for 5-year-old foreign children, and it has now been expanded to include 3- and 4-year-olds.

All foreign children attending kindergartens in Incheon are eligible, including undocumented residents.






Incheon to Add 23,000 New Niches at Incheon Family Park by 2025


To meet the long-term demand for burial facilities, Incheon City plans to add 23,000 new niches at Incheon Family Park by next year.

The city will invest 47.3 billion KRW, including 4.5 billion KRW in national funds, to build the new columbarium, create a natural burial site with 2,400 spaces, restore 210,000㎡ of forest, and compensate for 5,000 gravesites.

Construction is set to begin in April, with completion expected by May 2025.
